Without preaching it is to reform a church

Church establishment seems to be in vogue these days. But I would say that the revitalization of existing churches is at least as important to the cause of the kingdom. In fact, revitalizing a sick church is like having two for the price of one. Not only is a reformed and dynamic base of operations established. for the gospel, but it also eliminates the weak testimony that existed before. Sick churches are, as Mark Dever says, “terribly effective anti-missionary forces. “They announce to the community, “This is what a Christian looks like! What’s a Christian like!?. This misleading propaganda defames the Gospel and, in fact, prevents evangelization around this region. But when a church is transformed, the gospel grows and progresses as the community faces a true collective witness of Christ.

I have witnessed two twists and turns in the churches, one in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Usa, And the other in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In both cases, the churches were completely transformed, from preaching to collective worship, to church culture, to the evangelical impact on neighboring neighborhoods. Both on the corners and corners, although I can’t claim credit, I took advantage of a front row seat to observe the radical renovation of a church.

What made these Church reforms possible?

Preaching

The driving force behind all true reform will be the Word of God. When it operates in the midst of a congregation, the Word prepares and softens the arid ground and produces spiritual change. In Dubai, there were loyal members who had been fighting for years, but in vain; were not systematically supported by Sunday sermons; they were trying valiantly to strengthen the community, but something was missing; however, when preaching became constantly explanatory and gospel-centered, it was as if someone was throwing a match in essence. Multiplied. When the church began to change, a long-time member compared preaching to a weekly artillery fire. The persistent liberation of the Word softened the opposition and paved the way for the emergence of more fruitful ministries in the middle of the body.

The pulpit must lead the effort to reform a church and that means explicitly preaching, emphasizing the gospel and applications relevant to church life, especially in areas that require reform. If the pulpit is not firm behind the effort, reformers are probably wasting their time. It is better to go to a place where the Word has already been correctly preached and find out how this ministry can be sustained.
