Verse of the day: God, when He wanted to show more firmly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his plan, intervened by oath, so that, through two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, a strong encouragement to us that we have already run in search of refuge, to use promised hope (Hebrews 6. 17-18).
God is not incoherent. He does not commit to the promises, oaths, and blood of his Son simply to anchor one end of our security while letting the other swing in the air.
The salvation that Jesus obtained through his blood was all it took to save his people, not just a part of it.
So we are likely to ask ourselves: Why does the writer encourage us to use our hope (verse 18)?If our security was irrevocably obtained and guaranteed by the blood of Jesus, then why does God tell us to stand firm?
The answer is
He died so that you could do exactly what Paul did in Philippians 3:12: “I continue to realize why I was also conquered by Christ Jesus. “It is not madness, it is the gospel, to tell a sinner to do what only Christ can allow him to do is wait for God.
Therefore, I pray with all my heart: take and use that for what has been taken by Christ, and hold on with all your might.
