OVERVIEW: The Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, was born Jewish. What is God’s plan for Jesus to be born Jewish?History goes back to Abraham and takes us to the community of saints of all tribes and languages, peoples and Finally, Jesus was born Jewish to devastate all those who boast of his ethnic superiority and create a joyful and joyful new race that loves mercy.
Jesus was born Jewish, not only to strip neo-Nazis and kkk of Christian demands, but also to silence any ethnic and racial boasting, including Jews. He was born Jewish to lead all races and ethnicities to a humble dependence on mercy. He was born Jewish so that all races may rejoice in mercy, not melanin; and that each ethnic group rejoiced in piety, kept without ethnic forms; and that each tribe should rejoice in mercy rather than tribal attributes. Jesus was born Jewish to devastate any pride of ethnic superiority.
- To come to this conclusion is complicated.
- Although historically the fact that Jesus was born Jewish has offended all ethnic pride.
- Even Jewish.
- But to say that it is difficult is simply to agree with Paul.
- And as soon as he reaches this conclusion.
- He says: in the following breath: “O depth of God’s wealth.
- Wisdom.
- And knowledge! At what point are your judgments unreasonable.
- And how impenetrable are your ways?”(Rom.
- 11.
- 33).
This is Paul’s response to why the God of the universe became eningred in Judaism as a way to save people from all ethnic groups. Entangled not because God is trapped or confused, but because the entanglement of his ways of salvation with Judaism is, from our point of view, “unsinkable”. Its complexities go beyond our faculties.
However, God has granted Paul to take us further than ever in this mystery, no one has exhausted him. I invite you to accompany me in this mystery, at least to the extent that I can take you in an article.
Jesus was born Jewish. The Samaritan woman by the well said to Jesus, “How can you, being a Jew, ask me to drink, if I am a Samaritan woman?”(Jo 4. 9). Jesus later said to him, “You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation comes from the Jews” (Jo 4:22).
Jesus’ Judaism was not secondary to the Apostle Paul, who asked, So what is the advantage of the Jew?Or what is the point of circumcision? he himself replied: many, in all respects, mainly because the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God (Rom 3:1-2). Then he completed his list like this:
These are Israelis. They include adoption and glory, alliances, legislation, worship, and promises; of them are the patriarchs, and Christ also descends from them, according to the flesh, who is above all God blessed for ever and ever. Amen? (Romans 9: 4-5).
The cornerstone of the privileges of the Jews is: “Does Christ also descend from them, according to the flesh?Jesus was born Jewish. And to catapult the privilege of this world, is God incarnate?” who is above all Blessed God. centuries of the centuries. ” The greatest privilege of the Jewish people is that the Son of God was born among them.
Thus was born Jesus Jew. And it was not fortuitous, but it was the culmination of Jewish privilege among all nations, and Paul did not keep it a secret, as if it were shameful, but waved it like a flag for all Jews and all nations to see.
The question is why. Not only because, in the sense of, where does it come from?, but also why, in the sense that it leads. What is God’s plan in Jesus’ Judaism? And if it no longer made sense at that time, since Jesus is now the Savior of all peoples, why does Paul bring this question back into the light?
God became entangled in humanity as an ethnic Jew because, two thousand years earlier, he had become entangled with Abraham, the father of the Jewish people. “You are the Lord, the God who chose Abram, and who took him from you from the Jewish people. Caldeos, and they called him Abraham. (Born 9. 7). Since then, the Jews have become the privileged people of God’s covenant. “Of all the families of the earth, I have chosen you only for others”; (Am 3. 2) “. The Lord your God has chosen you to be his people, of all the peoples of the earth” (Dt 7:6).
Certainly, God had in mind from the beginning that through Abraham and his descendants, God would bless all nations. “I will make you a great nation, bless you, and magnify your name. Who will bless and curse those who curse you? Will all the families of the earth be blessed in you?(Genesis 12. 2-3. But Israel’s unique privilege remained.
For two thousand years, God concentrated almost all of His saving participation with the world in Israel, not on nations. which, in past generations, has allowed all peoples to walk their own way ?; (Acts 14. 16). “Only the Lord loved your parents to love them; Have you chosen others from among their descendants, from all peoples, as we see today?(Deut 10. 15). Forgiveness of sins was bestowed upon the Jews by the foreshadowed blood of Christ in sacrifices (Lev. 4. 20; Rom. 3. 25). And the Jews were promised that the Messiah would come from this town. (Is 9. 6-7). God, the Lord, will give you the throne of David, your father, will he reign forever over Jacob’s house?(Lk 1:32-33).
That’s why Jesus was born Jewish, had God chosen the Jews as his own people?(Dt 14:2). Did you focus on them your redemptive work for two thousand years? Not among the Chinese, not among Africans, nor among the pale Germanic hordes; However, when the fulness of times came, God sent His Son, born of woman, born under the law?that is, born Jewish (Gal 4:4).
But answering the question of why this relates to the past only intensifies the question because it refers to the future. What was God’s plan to engage with Israel in an alliance and with a Jewish Messiah through the incarnation? And why do it like this?
Clearly, the life, death, and resurrection of this Jewish Messiah led to the salvation of the Gentiles, of nations. In his life, Jesus said, “I tell you that many will come from east and west and sit at the table with Abraham. Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. While the children of the kingdom will be cast into darkness, will there be weeping and creaking of teeth?(Mt 8. 11-12). He said to the Jewish leaders, “That is why I say unto you that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you and delivered unto a people that shall bear fruit” (Mt 21:43). And he finished his ministry with the order to “make disciples of all nations” (Mt 28:19). ).
But was salvation still there? Jews? (Jo 4. 22). Paul explains how. When Israel rejected Jesus as the Messiah, they were like broken natural branches of the covenant tree with Abraham. When the Gentiles believed in the Messiah Jesus, they were like artificial branches grafted into this Jewish covenant.
If some branches have been broken and you, even if it is an acebuche cocoon, have grafted you among others and now share the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant with the branches, if you are transplanted remember that it is not you holding the root, but the root that sustains you (Rom 11:17?18)
The root supports you! This means that God’s commitment to Israel is why you are saved, because he is united in this root.
In other words, it is not a question of the Gentiles having one way of salvation and the Jews having another; there’s only one way. Does it belong to the real Israel? Israel saved. Paul made it clear that “aren’t all Israelites in fact Israelites?”(Rom 9. 6). Natural progeny is not part of true Israel. And many of those who are not descendants of Israel are part of true Israel?Who have you also called, not only among the Jews, but also among the Gentiles? As it also says in Osseas : Should I call my people what was not my people?(Romans 9. 24-25).
Being a true Jew is not a question of ethnicity, but of faith in the Messiah: “For it is not Jewish that is only outside”, “but Jew who is internally, and circumcision, which is of the heart, in the mind, not according to the letter ?, (Romans 2:28?29) The Gentiles, in this way, “become Jews”.
This is how Abraham’s promise to Genesis 12. 3 is fulfilled: “Now, after Scripture predicted that God would justify the Gentiles in faith, He foretold the gospel to Abraham: Will all people be blessed in thee?Is this how Abraham becomes the father of many nations?(Genesis 17. 5; Rom. 4,17).
“Is the salvation of the Jews coming? Not only because Jesus was Jewish, but because He saves the Gentiles, making them partakers of Jewish heritage. By the blood of Christ, because through him, both [Jews and Gentiles] have access to the Father in one Spirit, so you are no longer strangers or pilgrims, but fellow citizens of the saints, and belong to God’s family?(Ephesians 2,18-19) Strangers? Jewish house. ” You are [Jews and pagans] descendants of Abraham and heirs according to promise” (Galatians 3:29).
Some believe that this inclusion of the Gentiles in Jewish heritage is the last step in God’s relations with Israel’s ethnic group, but it is not. Paul teaches that “having entered the fulness of the Gentiles,” will all Israel be saved?(Romans 11:25-26). Does this refer to the ethnic nation as a whole, converted to Christ in the future? After which? The fulness of the Gentiles gathers.
Does any Israel say that here not about the ethnic nation, but about the total number of elected, Jewish and pagan officials. There are at least five compelling reasons why this doesn’t work. I’ll mention two.
First, it is highly unlikely that, with only eleven Greek words, the meaning of “Israel”? Change? Ethnic nation? By? Chosen Jews and Gentiles? (Romans 11: 25-26). The first usage, almost everyone agrees, refers to the ethnic group of Israel. Definitely, then, the second too:? He entered in part by hardening Israel, . . . Will all Israel be saved? So all of Israel is the ethnic nation that has already partially hardened. One day these people will be saved.
Second, the parallel between the two halves of Romans 11. 28 points to “All Israel?”As an ethnic nation. The first half of verse 28 says, “As for the gospel, are they enemies [of the ethnic people of Israel]?Dieux. La second half of the verse says, “How much, however, in the election, [those same groups that are enemies] are loved by the patriarchs. “The purpose of this verse is to show that while ethnic Israel is now a people who break alliances and do not believe, that will change. People who are now enemies will later become due to choices and love (see also the parallels in Romans 11. 12 and 15. )
Now we can step back and ask: Why did God save His people from all nations, including Jews, in this indirect way?
Let me summarize God’s indirect path
This is the indirect way God intended to save His people from all ethnic groups, including a final conversion of “all Israel. “An entire generation led en masse to faith at the end of this age. Why is this form so indirect? Here is Paul’s summary answer in Romans 11:30-32:
? For just as you [the Gentiles] disobeyed God at one time, but now you have obtained mercy because of your disobedience [to the Jews], so these [Jews] have now been disobedient, so that they [the Jews] may also have mercy, in view of what has been bestowed upon you. Why did God wipe out all [Jews and Gentiles] with disobedience, to give mercy to all?
By condensing this summary, we can say
The heathen nations lived in disobedience after the fall.
Then God chose Israel.
Israel has lived in disobedience, despite all its advantages
Then God overflowed mercy for the pagan nations.
This mercy on nations will result in great mercy in the conversion of Israel.
Therefore, all people depend entirely on mercy and not on merit
It’s complicated. Strange At this point, the next thing that comes out of Paul’s mouth is this: “O depth of God’s wealth, wisdom, and knowledge! At what point are your judgments unreasonable, and how impenetrable are your ways?(Rom. 11,33).
So what is the ultimate goal of such an indirect greeting?Paul puts it this way: “Why did God [all Jews and Gentiles] end up in disobedience to give mercy to all?”(Rom. 11: 32). Paul had already said that the goal was: that all mouths be closed and that all are guilty before God?(Rom. 3: 19). That is the negative goal, each ethnic group was humiliated by their disobedience.
The Jews are humiliated because, for all their advantages, they are like cut branches, and the Gentiles take their place in the Abrahamic covenant only by faith (Romans 11:19; 9:30-31). Pagan peoples are humiliated because they remain in the covenant only by faith (Romans 11:20) and because it is the Jewish root that sustains them, not the other way around (Romans 11:18). Do you need to become a Jew? To save (Galatians 3. 7). But no Jew is saved because he is a native Jew. For all Israel is not Israel (Romans 9:6) and do not begin to say among yourselves, We have Abraham as a father; Why do I tell you that from these stones God can raise abraham children?(Mt 3. 9).
Every mouth is silent. The pride of each ethnicity is stifled, everyone is left to disobedience. They’re all made to swallow their pride. The Gentiles must become Jews (including the Nazis and kkk) to be saved, and the Jews must renounce all dependence on Judaism and join the Gentiles in dependence on mercy.
Jesus was born Jewish? And all the other parts of it?Unfathomable? And “impenetrable” has God’s wisdom been put into practice? To achieve this goal, silence all ethnic and racial boasts, including Jews, and bring all races and ethnicities into a humble dependence on mercy.
Christ was born Jewish so that the whole race may rejoice in mercy, not in the degrees of melanin; for each ethnic group to rejoice in piety, without ethnic forms; for each tribe to rejoice in mercy, rather than tribal attributes. Jesus was born Jewish to devastate all pride in ethnic superiority and to create a new exalted and mercy-loving race.
