In the years I have been in the Ministry of Counseling I have met many people who have given up hope because they have adopted a psychologically unhealthy diagnosis regarding their personal problems, sometimes it is because someone has presented you with the diagnosis. In others, these people read a book, watch a TV show, listen to a conversation on the radio or take a psychology course, deciding for themselves that they actually suffer from a particular type of psychological problem, not recognizing that the diagnosis is ethical. and is it simply a descriptive identification, determined by deduction, that some people have decided to use as a label for certain types of human behaviors and experiences. And while the chosen descriptive word or phrase seems logical and meaningful in identifying a set of strange human behaviors, it doesn’t really describe the cause or nature of the problem.
Maybe I could clarify what I’m trying to say, whether I’m talking about how medical diseases are diagnosed and how psychological problems are generally diagnosed. In medicine, if a patient has a certain set of symptoms, do doctors suspect that?Disease. However, before making a definitive diagnosis, they prescribe a series of tests (blood, x-rays, etc. ), recognizing that if the person actually has this disease, its cause and nature will be revealed by tests. Doctors say whether that person has an illness or not. This diagnosis is based not only on symptoms, but on verifiable evidence or evidence of the causes and nature of the disease.
- Contrary to what many people imagine.
- This is not the case.
- Procedure commonly adopted in the context of secular psychology.
- In psychology.
- If someone has certain feelings.
- Behaviors.
- Ways of thinking.
- A number of symptoms over a specific period of time.
- It is assumed that such a person has a psychological problem.
- Although his cause is not and.
- In many cases.
- Cannot be tested by scientists without concrete evidence of the cause and nature of the problem.
- It seems that some symptoms indicate that he has a psychological problem.
- In many cases.
- This type of diagnosis is unproven and unlikely.
- And is proposed and often accepted as indisputable and indisputable.
Unfortunately, when a person believes in their problem, how much? its cause and nature, and? psychological and not spiritual, several things can be expected: 1) in his attempt to overcome the problem, this person leaves Christ and the Bible aside, seeking above all the solution (a) sometimes exclusively) in the remedies, ideas and concepts of secular psychology; 2) He began to think of Christ as a psychosocialist, whose main objective when coming into the world was to solve psychological problems, increase the self-esteem of the human being, free him from his help, waiting and supplying the needs of your ego; 3) this person loses hope and falls into despair, because many psychological labels carry with them the idea that I am like this, that I cannot change; 4) you get discouraged because these concepts are not anchored in Scripture in a real and frank way, they encourage you to think that the basic solution to your difficulties and? humanist by nature. Did this person need it? she will solve her problem on her own (the idea that she can and should change on her own) or others, preferably specialists, will solve it for her. Many people already? They tried and failed because they relied on their own efforts or the help of others. They know that they themselves, or anyone else, cannot offer the power to free them from their old way of thinking, feeling, and behaving and allowing them to think, feel, and behave. live differently. In this context where problems are seen primarily as psychological in nature, I have met many people who have lost hope and have increased their doubts about the possibility of change.
On the other hand, I saw hope flourish in people who began to recognize that their problems were primarily spiritual in nature and related to sin. The recognition that our personal and interpersonal problems are related to sin and is really good news, then if it is? right ha? they all wait for us. Why?? Because, according to the Bible, the basic purpose that Christ came into the world and? deliver us from the punishment and power of sin that dominates us (and possibly from the presence and possibility of sin). Is? the clearest message in the Bible: is Jesus? the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (Jo 1. 29); Faithful and? the word is worthy of being received by all: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the head (1 Tim. 1:15); And will you name him Jesus, because he saved? his people from their sins (Mt 1:21); who gave himself for us, to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people exclusively his, zealous in good works (Titus 2:14).
The good news, according to the Bible, does not say that Christ came into the world to be a psychopath, soon a doctor who would bring a cure for our psychological diseases. The good news of the Bible affirms that Christ Jesus came into the world. to deliver the punishment and power of sin (Romans 6. 1-23). The good news? She hopes to be freed from the punishment of our sins. There is a substantial liberation from the dominant power of sin and its effects on the present, because that is what Christ has come to do in the world.
Is this a biological perspective on the nature of man’s greatest and most fundamental problems?Hopeful for those struggling with patterns of anti-biblical thought, desire, feeling, and behavior. This perspective is liberating, free, encouraging, public and true!He tells people that although his personal and interpersonal problems are serious and intense, there is hope for change, because Christ Jesus came into the world to offer freedom of guilt, condemnation, corruption, punishment, and the power to control sin in their lives. Perspective teaches people that in Jesus Christ they can harness all the resources necessary to escape the corruption that manifests itself in the world through sinful desires. Christ also empowers believers to live in a truly living and fruitful way, characterized by moral excellence, knowledge. , moderation, perseverance, fraternal love, kindness and Christian love (2 Pet 1. 3-8).
Is this biological message full of hope, for he affirms that Christ has inexhaustible resources at our disposal, so that we may overcome the corrupt influences of our evil desires? We find available in Christ all we need to escape the condemnation and destructive influences of sin in Our lives and live in piety. We find in Christ all that we need to overcome the dominant influences of sin, which prevent us from living this kind of fruitful life described in 2 Peter 1. 3-8. Those who accept God’s diagnosis of the true nature of their problems will find everything in Christ to all the things they bring?life and mercy, to get rid of the corruption of the passions that exist?in the world, become partakers of the divine nature. They may need help learning to take advantage of these resources, but they can have hope because everything they need is in Christ!
