Verse of the day: The man I will look at is this: he who is afflicted and despondent in spirit and who trembles before my word (Isaiah 66:2).
The first sign of a righteous heart is that it trembles at the Word of the Lord.
- Isaiah 66 addresses the problem of some who worship in a way that pleases God and some who worship in a way he does not like.
- Verse 3 describes the wicked who bring their sacrifices: “What a ox immolates is like the one who commits murder; What does a lamb.
- Like the one who breaks a dog’s neck.
- Sacrifice?.
- Their sacrifices are an abomination to God.
- Equivalent to murder.
- Why?.
In verse 4, God explains, “I cried and no one answered, spoke, and did not listen. “His sacrifices were an abomination to God because people were deaf to his voice. But what about those whose prayers God has made?God says in verse 2: “The man I am going to look at is this: he who is afflicted and slit in spirit and who trembles before my word. “
I conclude that the first characteristic of heterosexual men, whose prayers please God, is that they tremble before the Word of God. These are the people the Lord will turn to.
Thus, the prayer of the righteous who pleases God comes from a heart that, above all, feels miserable in the presence of God; he trembles before the Word of God, because he feels far from God’s ideal, very sensitive to his judgment, very helpless and very sad for his failures.
This is exactly what David said in Psalm 51. 17: “The sacrifices that please God are the broken spirit; contrite and humiliated heart, will you not despise him, O God?of the one who prays.
