What Jesus Did to Death

Verse of the day: And just as men are commanded to die only once, after this judgment comes, so too Christ, having offered himself once and for all to take away the sins of many, he will appear a second time, without sin. (Hebrews 9:27-28)

Jesus’ death takes away sins; it is the very heart of Christianity, the heart of the Gospel and the heart of the great divine work of redemption in the world; Christ took away sins by dying; took away sins that were not his own. He suffered for the sins others have committed, so that they may be free from these sins.

  • This is the answer to the biggest problem of your life.
  • Whether you think it’s your main problem or not.
  • There is an answer to the question of how we can reconcile with God even if we are sinners.
  • The answer is that Christ’s death is “an offering to take away the sins of many.
  • ” He took our sins and took them to the cross and died there of death that we deserved to die.

Now, what does that mean about my death?” I am ordered to die only once. “This means that my death is no longer punitive. My death is no longer a punishment for sin, my sin has been taken away. My sin is taken away by the death of Christ, Christ took the punishment.

Then why am I dying? Because God wants death to remain in the world for the time being, even among his own children, as a permanent testimony of the extreme horror of sin. In our death, we still manifest the external effects of sin on the world.

However, the death of God’s children is no longer their wrath against them; has become our gateway to salvation, not condemnation.
