What is to love money

Verse of the day: Love of money is the root of all evils (1 Timothy 6. 10).

What did Paul mean when he wrote this? Doesn’t mean money is always in your mind when you sin. A lot of sins happen when we don’t think about money.

  • My suggestion is this: it meant that all the evils of the world come from a certain kind of heart.
  • That is.
  • The kind of heart that loves money.

Now, what does it mean to love money? This does not mean admiring blue paper or copper or silver coins, to know what it means to love money you have to ask yourself: what is money ?, I would like to answer this question in this way: money is simply a symbol indicating The resources of man Money represents what you can get from man instead of God.

God operates on the basis of the coin of grace, not money: Ah, all who thirst, come to the waters; and you who don’t have money, come buy and eat?(Isaiah 55:1). Money is the currency of human resources. Thus, the heart that loves money is a heart that sets its hopes, seeks its pleasures and trusts in what human resources can offer.

Thus, the love of money is practically the same as faith in money: the belief (certainty, trust, security) that money will meet your needs and make you happy.

Love of money is the alternative to faith in God’s future grace; is faith in man’s future resources. Therefore, love of money, or trust in money, is the basis of disbelief in God’s promises. Jesus said in Matthew 6. 24, “Can no one serve two lords? Can’t you serve God and riches?

You cannot trust God and money at the same time; believing in one is not believing in the other. A heart that loves money, which relies on money for happiness, does not count on God’s future grace for his satisfaction.
