The Ascension is the induction of Christ as King of all; when he ascended to heaven, he showed his dominion over death and continues to occupy his place of authority over the whole world; the one who created the world is the same one who continues to rule it by the word of his power.
Now, when we say that Christ reigns, we say that, in his ascension, he assumed the role of King he had before coming to earth; while he was on earth, he continued to keep all things and fulfill all his purposes, to an end. But he is not simply king: in his ascension, he too intercedes for us at the right hand of God. Jesus not only acts as king and priest in our name, but continues to send His Word into our hearts through the work of His Spirit. The Holy Ghost, remember, testifies Cristo. As prophet, priest, and king, he prepares our future; all things cooperate for the divine result, the consumption of god’s glory by the one who rules above all for the purposes he has conceived; as king, he prepares us a place for God. As a priest, he will make sure that when we are in court, we are righteous before God for the work of purifying His blood. The priestly nature of Jesus will come to light when we prostrate before the Lamb of God, who with his blood bought for God men and women of all tribes, tongues, and nations, and this priestly role will also be played by Christ preparing us for the future, and finally, through his Spirit, he guarantees everything. those who are his, and therefore God, through his Spirit, does his will not only in the present world, but also for eternity; he assures, by the power of the Spirit, all he wants, sending him for his purposes, his power, and his infinite love for Jesus Christ.
The ascended Lord is one who, as a prophet, priest, and king, governs our present and prepares our future.
Savior of intercession, you always show compassion for your people; in all as we were tempted, and now you intercede for us when we are tempted; pray to the Father for us, for you are our lawyer before the judge of the whole earth. . Amen.
