When Jesus’ disciples asked him to teach them to pray, Jesus gave them a pattern of prayer. We call it the Lord’s prayer, and it really is the Lord’s pattern of prayer. This is how Jesus taught his disciples to pray.
When we say “Our Father,” we remember that the God who created the universe is the heavenly Father. He is the Father who provides. He is the sustaining Father, he is the protecting Father. And prayer reminds us that we can run to our Father, so that our needs are known.
But Jesus also remembered that he is not only our Father, but also our King. Therefore, when we say, “Come thy kingdom, will thy will be done?”, we recognize that our Father is the King. We approach our Father, who is the king of the universe, who has full control and authority over all things. Our priority must be our Father, who is King, and the greatest joy for your children is that your name be sanctified, that your name be recognized. He must pray, “God, may your name be recognized. ” The Lord’s prayer is also a collective prayer. Our father reminds us that I am not an only child, our desire is to sanctify your name throughout the country, in the end, this world is not our home and we hope that your kingdom will be finally and completely established. Jesus reminds us that we can approach our Father, when we fail with our Father, when we fail with our King, we can ask forgiveness.
The Lord’s model prayer teaches us that we are totally dependent on our Father for all our daily needs. I think people today tend to forget that. Jesus said that we should pray like this: “Give us the bread of every day. “It’s a lesson in humility. We are immersed in a spiritual battle and need protection. We ask our king to protect us.
