What is an “explanatory” sermon?
An explanatory sermon is one that takes the main point of a scripture passage, makes it the main point of the sermon, and applies it to today’s life.

- An explanatory sermon exposes the meaning of a scripture passage and shows its relevance to the lives of listeners.
This means that an explanatory sermon
Instead, do you take a short, medium, or long scripture and show how dramatically the main meaning of this passage is in today’s world?
A shepherd must preach explicitly because God works through his word. The word of God corresponds to the action of God.
The Word of God is not only descriptive, it is effective; the Word of God not only announces, it creates; If life and death are in the very power of our word (Proverbs 18:21), eternal life depends entirely on the Word of God.
So what does this mean for the preacher? This means that the only power your ministry can have will come from the Spirit of God acting through the Word of God. The Word and Spirit of God convert sinners. The Word and Spirit of God edify the saints. The Word and Spirit of God fulfill God’s purposes in the world (Is 55:10-11).
Is that why every pastor must preach?i. e. , preach sermons that take up the main point of a scripture, make it the main point of the sermon, and apply it to today’s life. Week after week, the pastor should not begin with what he believes the congregation needs to hear. , but with what God said to His people in His Word.
