Question 16: What is sin?
Is it a sin to reject or ignore God in the world he has created, to rebel against him and to live without having him as a reference in our lives, not to be or not to do what he demands in his law?Which leads us to our death and the disintegration of all creation.
Anyone who commits a sin also commits wickedness; because sin is wickedness.

Sin is a fundamental relationship; he doesn’t do anything wrong; is to be wrong, to be deliberately and categorically independent of God. The Christian religion bases everything on the positive and radical nature of sin. Other religions speak of sin, but only the Bible deals with sin. The first thing Jesus Christ, that men faced was the inheritance of sin, and as we ignored in our presentation of the gospel, the message of the gospel lost its poignant character and its power of excitement.
JOHN LIN
A very important way of understanding sin is that it is a rebellion against God’s law, not to do what he requires of us, not to live as he called us to live and, therefore, not to be, in its entirety, what God has created for Sin is to live without God’s reference, not to see it as the defining reality of our lives , around which our whole life must be centered. When we do not live as if God is what He is, we are violating his law and all the good, loving, and protective he has given us to live better and more fully.
Think of it this way: if you go down a cliff and say, “I don’t have to live by the law of gravity, am I following my own rules? On the one hand would you disobey a very specific rule and commandment? That is, “do not walk the cliff towards the cliff”. On the other hand, I wouldn’t live by the law of gravity either. He would live as if gravity had no consequences or importance in his life. But you can’t say eso. la law of gravity is arbitrary, it’s unfair to have to obey it, we would never say that, because we understand that gravity is something under the reference of what we live in, of course there are rules to follow and limits to You know the result of walking on a cliff and trying to break the law of gravity : death and disintegration.
When we do not live as if God were God, when we break his law of love, when we do not honor who He is, when we say or insinuate with our actions that it has no consequences or importance to us in such or that part. of our lives, we fail to be fully what God has created for us and this leads to death and disintegration.
The following illustration can help. Our solar system exists in harmony only when all planets orbit in the same center: the Sun. However, if the planets decided, by themselves, how to make their orbit, what would happen?Death and disintegration. The solar system, as we know it, would collapse and disintegrate, because the planets would not be orbiting the right center, would not live with the sun as a reference, so everything would collapse and be destroyed.
Not living with God as a reference not only leads to our death and personal disintegration; Therefore, the whole cosmos is subject to death and disintegration. God created Adam and Eve to be the heart and climax of creation. However, when they sinned, disobedience to God’s law of love had implications not only for their lives, but also for the life of the entire cosmos.
Paul writes that “Is the wages of sin death? (Romans 6. 23). Sin leads to death. However, the gospel says that Jesus Christ lived death so that we could live. One way or another, it was torn to pieces on the cross. “, spiritually dismantled, so that we could be healed. He died for our sin, that we may live. He experienced death and disintegration. He paid the punishment for our sins so that we would not have to pay for them.
Lord of the universe, all your ways are good. We follow the paths of death when we follow our own path. Help us see sin as the poison it is. May your law, not the spirit of rebellion against the law, give your mind and your life your form. Amen.
