The text below was taken from Elyse Fitzpatrick’s book Vencendo Medos y Ansiedades by Editora Fiel.

As you can see, a person’s predisposition to fear can be caused by a combination of things. First, it seems that some people, because of their own personality, are more inclined to him than others. In the next few chapters, we will examine delving deeper into the factors of our personality that make us fear. Some people also seem to have a more sensitive body that reacts more intensely to fear, or may be more aware of changes that occur in their body.

  • Personal history also plays an important role in the ability to deal with life’s problems.

Finally, we are all the product of how we respond to the specific life God has designed for us. Some of our answers may have taken place in a spirit of faith, while others come from disbelief. As we will see in the following chapters, our relationship with the Lord, especially our understanding of who he is and the meaning of his word, will make a difference in the way we handle the situations of life and our fears.

The human experience of fear is nothing new. Although it is probably discussed more now because we live in the information age, fear has existed since the dawn of time. As we move forward in this book, we will delve deeper into the biblical perspectives on fear. , but for now, let’s look at his first account in the Word of God.

When God created the earth, the kind of fear we are talking about did not exist. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were completely safe and harmless. They weren’t afraid of predators or diseases. All his physical needs were met. They loved their Creator, they loved each other, and the work God had assigned them. They probably didn’t even know the end of life was possible. They didn’t care what he was kept in tomorrow. They were completely safe, happy, and praised for their Lord. Then the inconceivable happened: they sinned. Eve first, then Adam fell into Satan’s trap and disobeyed God. The immediate result of his disobedience was fear and shame. See how the Bible describes the consequences of this terrible event:

When [Adam and Eve] heard the voice of the Lord God, who walked in the garden at dawn, they hid from the presence of the Lord God, man, and his wife, among the trees in the garden. And the Lord God called man, and asked him, Where are you?He said, I heard your voice in the garden, and because I was naked, I was frightened and hid. Genesis 3. 8-10

Adam and Eve’s initial response was fear, wasn’t it?They were embarrassed and scared, so they hid. They felt vulnerable and uncomfortable at the possibility of being seen as they were: naked. They no longer appreciated their free and open communion with them. Dios. No they wanted God to see them. They feared their discontent, and rightly so, they had disobeyed him, and this disobedience would lead them to hide, cover up, and always shrink before him in a servile fear; we, whose life is constantly characterized by fear, cannot even imagine the immense tragedy of the loss they suffered; their relationship with the Creator and their relationship would never be the same again. Has sin completely devastated you, and this devastation continues today.

As this book develops, you will see how sin is an important factor in our fear. I imagine this may be a new or even uncomfortable concept for you. You may think that talking about sin is reprehensible or rude. It is true that sin, especially ours, is difficult to face. That’s the way it is with me.

However, I will not direct your thoughts towards your sin because I want to punish you, condemn you or reject you, I will direct you there because it is there, and only there, where you will discover the truth that will set you free. I believe that the Holy Ghost will gently convince you of your need to approach your Savior, and in doing so you will find the help and rest you dream of.

My sincere desire is that this book serves as a tool that brings you closer to who loves you and that it is the only one that can forgive you, transform you and restore you, so don’t be afraid to get out of the back. this shrub and look deep into your own heart. Look also deep into the heart of the one who loved you so much, who walked in the clutches of death and in your enemy’s fist for you. Such love only requires trust.
