Coronavirus has provided church leaders with a unique opportunity to accelerate the way they train future elders and leaders. I’m sorry many miss this opportunity.
If deaconos must first be tested before serving (1 Timothy 3:10), how much more do the elders do?The spread of coronavirus and the many consequences it has brought to church leadership offer an excellent, and perhaps unique, opportunity to examine and improve the character, gift, and theology of ancient potentials.
- Let us look at the multiplicity and variety of problems that converge today.
- With which ancestral potential must be faced; it is usually necessary to let a few years pass before this multiplicity and this variety of concerns prevent a brother from trying and equipping him.
- In a few weeks.
- Everything is here.
- In front of us.
- What a gift from the head of the Church!.
Theologically, there is a gold mine of hermeneutic and theological domains to explore. Do today’s elders and shepherds help the pre-elderly? To sail and teach them along the way. We can see if a brother thinks theologically and is balanced in his doctrine or if he follows all theories of conspiracy.
As for character development, we can see if greater potential prefers to watch movies throughout their awakening or if they ‘arreme’ to improve their theology and service to others. We also see if you take advantage of this Sabbath obligation to rest, develop your character and breathe in our busy society. We can see their fears, their hopes, their savings and more.
In terms of gifting development, do current students have the opportunity to support a potential pastor in many areas of ministry jurisdiction? Counseling, teamwork, compassion, teaching, animation of prayer groups, devotional leadership, and fund management.
In the life of the church, today’s elders help and help these brethren deal with ecclesiological concerns (is it the virtual church?Church?) And pragmatic (how are we going to promote life in the congregation?). We see that you are concerned about the economic needs of potentially neglected sheep. We see him looking for stragglers and lame people. We see moderate opposing views on the severity of this problem.
It is rare for potential alumans to obtain a two-month intensive preparation course from the pastor, and it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that today’s elders should not miss, even if that means leaving aside other duties or opportunities in leading. I regret that so few existing churches have a tutoring category for the next generation, as well as buying new clerics at the seminary.
Brethren, we will not miss this hidden opportunity, we can feel like horrible shepherds if we do not bring food to a beloved widow in the church during childbirth, but we will fail if we do not do our job of preparing people to replace us.
So let’s stay away from the coronavirus in our closed groups of elders! We will let others see us think theologically and participate pastorally. I’m afraid if we miss this opportunity, we’ll spend years waiting for equally timely scenarios to emerge.
By releasing the coronavirus, Christ has given us a unique opportunity to examine and prepare the future elders of his church.
