One of John Bunyan’s lesser known books is Life and Death of Mr. Bunyan, Evil Man. [1] In this document, Bunyan tells the story of an individual who was “completely corrupt” from his youth. Even in his childhood, was he the? Head of sinners? Among other children. He was very inclined to fly, beginning with small acts like stealing fruit from the orchards, yet the indisputable peccamentos inevitably grow larger and larger, so it was with Mr. Badman.
After a while, Mr. Malo decided that he wanted a wife, or more specifically his money, and following the bad advice of his wicked companions, simulated religiosity and won the hand of a pious and rich young woman. to him in search of the couple’s money; with the money of his pious wife, he paid them the value of the goods he generously acquired for his illicit loves; his wife died heartbroken, but resting in Christ, his Savior. , Mr. Wicked Man continued on the path of destruction.

The basis of this commandment is the divine right of ownership: the fact that the Creator has constituted man in the way he desires and needs the right to exclusive possession and enjoyment of certain things. [?] [Is] the only security for the individual and for society?(Charles Hodge). Thus, the commandment forbids us to take unjustly anything other than our own. The flight can take many forms, including theft (Mark 10. 19), kidnapping (Exodus 21. 16), human trafficking (1 Timothy 1. 10), receipt of stolen goods (Proverbs 29. 24). ), fraudulent transactions (1 Timothy 3 (8)), the use of false weights and measures (Proverbs 20. 10), infringement of property marks (Deuteronomy 19. 14), injustice in contracts (Deuteronomy 24. 15), extortion (Psalm 62. 10), immoral loans (Psalm 37. 21), borrowing and not repaying (Exodus 22. 14), seizing unfair forensic applications (1 Corinthians 6. 7), plagiarism, etc. (see Westminster Major Catechism, Q
In the great city of Ephesus, Paul ministered for three years on his third missionary journey. He spent two of those years at Tyrant’s school (Acts 19:9-10). After teaching during the day and spending time with his students, Paulo probably devoted himself to his craft of making tents, at sunrise and sunset. Therefore, it is not surprising that he says in the letter to the Ephesians: “He who stole, steal no more; instead of working, doing what’s right with your hands, so you have to share what you need?(Ephesians 4:28). In short, he condemns the robbery and recommends hard work.
This naturally leads us to consider the duties required in the Eighth Commandment, that is, “Does the legitimate obtaining and increase of wealth and external status, both ours and our neighbour?”(Brief Catechism of Westminster, P
What happened to Mr. Bad Man after all?He reached the end of his sick life in his body and as desperately lost as the unrepentant thief of Calvary. So as not to think out of presumption that we don’t look like him on his path of robbery, we must remember that we are all violators of the law. Our first parents stole the forbidden tree and all its descendants have been thieves ever since. The thieves of all other violators of God’s law must be washed, sanctified, and justified by divine intervention (1 Corinthians 6:10-11) However, the fact that we live as forgiven sinners who have been washed into the blood of Christ does not exempt us from the temptation to steal. We must watch our hearts carefully and consistently and be aware of the complexities of sin and cunning of Therefore, that we strive to live immaculately, so as not to raise in person the slightest suspicion that we are close to the Evil Lord.
