There’s a lot of talk about the poor. They say, or at least suggest, that we should get involved in this or that project, if we are not selfless and cruel. When you read, much of it’s written as “us and them. “moves quickly in the gospel, if you are clear about the gospel in the first place.
Where is the authority to talk about these issues and how are you doing?
Jesus did not protect the poor; He was poor
Jesus, in whom there are unsyged riches; Jesus, who now has all authority and power; Jesus, for whom does all creation exist? He was poor.
His mother was on the verge of misfortune when she became pregnant, he was born in a stable and had to settle for clothes instead of clothes suitable for a baby, his nursery was a place to feed the animals, others carried a lamb to sacrifice during his son’s circumcision. During his circumcision, his mother was only able to pay for one pigeon. He was a refugee. He grew up in an area where nothing good came from.
When he became a man, he was homeless, with no place to rest, he had to depend on the charity of others.
He died naked, without a penny and was buried in a borrowed grave
When you see people in need, do not believe that you understand them, but Jesus, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, understands them; was tempted in all ways like them, but without sin.
What does it say about the poor? He preaches the gospel to them; if the poor believe, Jesus adopts them into his family and calls them brothers and sisters with pride. His Father becomes his Father; are collaborators of Christ, who came into this world to take the poor out of their sins, to be heir to God and to be the spouse of Jesus, so is Jesus not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters?exactly like everyone else. .
His prophets and apostles were no better; Batista had no home and had little to spend on food and clothing; Peter and John confessed to having no silver or gold, and Paul was hungry, thirsty, and often lacked food; sometimes he felt cold and nudity. They knew poverty, but they preached to the crucified Christ and loved all the churches that preached it, because Christ was the head and there was hope for all, in the church slaves could be considered on the same level as the amos.
Do we ignore those who protect the poor and follow Christ and those sent by him, leading the poor to Jesus?Don’t let any other problem bother you. If they are saved, they are brothers and sisters in Christ, consisting of Christ, members of his body, who is the Church.
At Pentecost, we see what it looks like. This is not done by writers or scholars, but by all Christians in the daily life of the church. Even if that means selling everything you have, no one should feel neglected as we spend time together Sunday after Sunday, serving each other. Listen to Paul speak of the church life: “In which there can be no Greek or Jew, circumcision or uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all in all? Only Jesus Christ can do that, he made us children of God.
So how can we help the poor? Just listen to Jesus. Only he has all the authority and power; means we shouldn’t distort your words. Listen, obey, preach Christ, and be part of a church where this unity is demonstrated. He serves in his church, which reflects him, doing all he can to maintain the unity of the Spirit.
“No one but Jesus can do good to desperate sinners”; and how amazing it can be. How amazing you can do for all of us.
Pray for the churches, because this is where there is real action
