Some people have a gospel according to cats.
And others have a gospel according to dogs.
- In the gospel according to cats.
- God said.
- “Make me happy.
- Caress me.
- Don’t get too close to me.
- Love me.
- Serve me.
- And maybe I’ll pay attention to you once in a while? This gospel presents God as capricious.
- Vain.
- And demanding.
In the gospel according to dogs, God says, “I love everything about you. You never bother me. You never do anything wrong. Never change. I don’t care what you do or who you are. I’m so happy to be with you?In spite of everything!? This gospel presents God as someone who desperately needs affection, without standards, and without real concern for our behavior or well-being.
The gospel according to cats offers no grace. The gospel according to dogs does not expect obedience. Make your choice: ruthless Christianity or Christianity without repentance. Neither does true Christianity.
Do not exchange the bad news of whimsical love for the false gospel of unconditional approval. Grace is more than “everything is fine” and the law is more than “acting. “
Run to Christ and be forgiven. Die yourself, be happy. Follow Christ.
