The fifth truth is the perseverance of the saints or the preservation of grace. The Bible teaches that all the chosen are kept by the power of the Father and that none of the Father’s chosen ones will be lost. None of those for whom the Son died will perish. None of those who have been or are regenerated by the Spirit will fall into disgrace. All who have received or received God’s saving grace will be brought to glory, protected, and preserved forever. The vast scope of salvation is now complete. Moving from past eternity to future eternity, salvation is rightly regarded as a work of unique grace. Those whom God chose before the beginning of time are those whom He will save forever when time no longer exists. Will all the chosen persevere because God Himself perseveres in them?and allows them to stand before their throne without reproach.
This biblical teaching on salvation clearly reveals that salvation is all by grace. From start to finish, every aspect of saving grace is a free gift from God, sovereignly bestowed upon sinners who do not deserve it [i].
