The centrality of Christ in our thoughts

If we compare Mark’s text to the original text (Deuteronomy 6:5), we will see that Christ adds love with “all understanding”. The goal is to clarify that we must love God with all our being, including our thinking. But think about it, are we used to loving someone with our minds? We say, “Do I love you with all my heart? Or? Do I love you with all my soul? But who’s talking? I love you with all my brain” So how can we love God with all our minds, having our thoughts centered on Christ, especially outside the church?

Love God with all your understanding

  • We must learn to enjoy both the reading of the Bible and the book of nature.
  • The things that God has created.
  • And this thought awakens our love.
  • When you love someone.
  • You’re looking to meet them.
  • In the same way.
  • Everyone who loves God will seek to know Him; and the more we know.
  • The more glorious it will be for us.

Love God with all your understanding

We are called to love God with our understanding of Him. We need to understand better, but that doesn’t mean that to love God, you must first be a PhD student.

Love God with all your understanding

And that is the challenge: all our thinking, either extensively (all kinds of reflection) or intensively (with all efforts).

The first thing we have to get out of this is not to divide the mind, as if there was a mentality for the church and another outside the church. Division is not whether something is church (gospel?) Or not, but whether God is honorable or not?and this can happen both inside and outside the church.

Secondly, do we think like the world? Some examples

If you think like the world, you will be worldly even if you are inside the church, but be encouraged by the example of Daniel, who did it despite doing it? The College of Babylon? (and you don’t have to run away from your university) it has not been contaminated by the things of the world and has maintained its holiness and worldview.

Basic text: Daniel 3

I started thinking and now I will talk about our attitudes, because for the attitude to be right, the mind must be transformed beforehand.

I want to make it clear again that worldly is not a place you can be, but a virus that can contaminate everything you do, whether you’re in church or not. Let me give you some examples of worldly attitudes that infect us:

Know that the world imposes and imposes a way of life on all, just as Nebuchadnezzar imposed worship on his idol and, unfortunately, many Christians give in to this pressure, for example, do you think you have any of these attitudes?

What kind of thought and attitude dominated you?

You should also know that the world will not accept if you choose to follow Christ, the world first imposes its way of life, and if we try to resist, it will try to persuade us, and if we still remain faithful, the world will persecute us. Isn’t that what Nebuchadnezzar did to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego?

Is this why Paul says this: anyone who wants to live piously in Jesus Christ will be persecuted?(2 Timothy 3:12) If you live piously in Christ or if the people who live next to you will become or hate, the three friends did not know the end of the story, but still, at the cost of their lives, they did not bow before them were willing to lose their lives because of their God.

However, at the end of the story, God honored the faith of the three friends; understand that God did not draw his servants out of tribulation, but delivered them in the midst of tribulation; God did not deliver from fire, but by fire (Isaiah 43:1. 2); God has shown that He is with those who believe in him; How important it is to know that Christ is with us; it is not easy to evangelize in such a pagan world, but Christ promises to be with us. (Mt 28: 19. 20) . It is not easy to rebuke a brother in sin, but Christ promises to be with us (Mt 18:15-20). Receive this from the Lord: He promises to be the center of our lives if we face the furnace.

And finally, keep in mind that there are two benefits when we are tested and approved:

May God give us the courage to trust in this God even in the midst of trials and to have a free attitude.
