One of the best-known passages in all of Bi?Lia and? Isai? Like the 6th, who reports on Isai’s call?As for prophetic ministry. Several times this passage and “used to instruct God’s people about” divine glory and holiness. Biblical sermons and licenses have often highlighted Isaiah’s repentance and willingness to fulfill the Lord’s commandment.
Less often, we were reminded of Jesse’s nature, as a ministry, that is, his task was largely to separate and shake. Should I even preach that the people of Judah, the hardened heart, turned their backs on the Lord. and the cities were in ruins, with no inhabitants. Finally, the God who sent Isai?As stated, only one person in the population would survive, but even if he suffered, it would be the rest of God’s people who would stay and, like the trunk of a tree that produces buds even after it was cut, would remain.
- Among the various problems evident in Jesse 6.
- We find the fact that this whole matter was orchestrated by the Lord.
- He called the prophet.
- And gave him the message to proclaim it.
- And the result of the preaching was declared and known beforehand.
- In other words.
- Divine design is revealed and realized by the One who is willing and can do whatever you want.
Any superficial reading of this book reveals that the God of Jesse is sovereign. Many texts of Jesse’s prophecy reflect this truth: “I am God from the beginning I announce what is there?Things that have not yet happened since ancient times happen; I say, will my advice remain?Stand up, will I do all my will? (It’s 46. 9-10).
Isaiah’s prophecies lead us not only to ponder the sovereign way God acted with Israel, but also to declare his designs in relation to the nations of the world. Consider Isaiah 49. 6: Yes, he says, “Little and are you my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob, and bring the remains of Israel?I also gave birth to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation. The end of the earth?
The prophet, who makes us see God’s complete sovereignty in all things, did not hesitate to declare that God’s plan includes the salvation of men from all the nations of the earth. In light of this last verse, we think of this goal as if two facts emerge: first, there is the challenge of not focusing exclusively on one part of the divine plan and striving to achieve all that plan; Second, we have a call that leads us to send workers into the world to fulfill the Lord’s desires, so we ponder the challenge and the call to global missions.
The challenge is to look beyond our neighborhood and the people we know, to see the whole world as our field of work. And? It is a great challenge, because such a business requires great resources and places enormous responsibilities on the crest, which our meat normally leaks. Referring to a personal example, I remember my pastor in Louisville, Kentucky. How much I loved the work the Lord had called me!How he had a deep love for those he served! But the pastorate’s work was difficult, and sometimes the challenge became so great that I was retiring. There were days when I wanted nothing more than to close the office door, come back. ? Float and plant oranges. The challenge of pastoral ministry was sometimes overwhelming.
Similarly, the mission challenge is great. Jacob, or Was Israel precious to the Lord, This is the central theme of the scriptures. Did the Lord say so through the prophet Master?S: Of all the families of the earth, only I have chosen you (3. 2). We cannot read the central chapters of Paul’s letter to the Romans without being deeply convinced that Israel occupies a special place in The Heart of God.
But despite this, God’s vision and plan are broader; they extend beyond Israel and reach all the nations of the earth, as has been the case from the beginning, when the Lord told Abraham that he and his offspring would be a blessing to all the families of the earth. is next before God’s people, it was to make God known to others.
The challenge for each believer begins in his own father. By supporting each other, various research has been conducted on the American people, systematically revealing the United States as one of the most religious (if not the most religious) countries in the world. actually, most of America’s population has some form of mercy while denying its power (2 Tim. 3. 5); they claim to know God, but their actions deny him (Titus 1:16).
Rape, revolts, crimes and all sorts of evils have intensified everywhere. Our leaders demand peace among peoples and among peoples, without recognizing that peace exists only in the person of Jesus Christ.
If we turn our attention to global statistics, the challenge is even greater. Missionaries classify the world’s population into broad categories: the Christian world affects approximately 33% of the terrestrial population (World C); 42% of the world’s population who have some familiarity with the gospel but are not classified as Christian (world B); and World A, about 25% of the population (about 1. 2 billion people), who have never been exposed to the gospel. Researchers also tell us that the Christian world spends about 99. 9% of its money itself and only 0. 09% on the service of world B. Only 0. 01% and spent to reach the unreheld peoples of World A (“World A: A World Apart” published by the Board of Foreign Missions of the Southern Baptist Convention).
In addition, World A, while containing a quarter of the world’s population, has only 1% of Christian missionaries assigned; by contrast, the Christian world accounts for 33% of the world’s population and 91% of missionaries.
The? In the light of such a challenge, how can believers be pushed more toward missions?
The second problem that arises from our verse is the call to global missions. Chapter 49 of Jesse, full of references to God’s sovereignty. With authority, he ordered; “Listen to me, land of the sea, and you, people from afar, listen!?(V. 1). The Lord’s servant said that even before he was born, the Lord knew him and called him, “The Lord called me from my birth, from my mother’s womb, and mentioned my name?(v. 1). The Lord has formed and shaped his servant’s mouth to accomplish divine purposes (v. 2). The servant owes his existence to the Lord (v. 5), who proclaimed, “Have I given you as a light for the heathen?(V. 6) and completed the task. The gentleman is? Faithful in choosing his servants and sending them. “to fulfill their orders (v. 7).
All these elements are the work of the One who declares his designs and performs them. This is not one of the paid idols, whose mouth cannot speak. It is the Lord, who speaks and men listen; And?The Lord, who commands and men obey; And?The Lord, who calls and men follow Him.
Who can run away from someone like him? When the Lord commanded, Moses complained and apologized, but he went so far as to face Pharaoh. Jeremiah resolved not to speak a word of the Lord again, only to feel that word as fire in his bones, so he had to go out and Jonah tried to escape God’s will for his life, but ended up in the belly of a fish, screaming to fulfill the task God had assigned him. Peter repudiated his Lord, Saul tried to annihilate the newborn church; however, they became the greatest preachers, proclaiming the gospel first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles.
With absolute certainty, we can declare God’s sovereignty in all things. He lifts the storm and sends it all over the country, wherever he wants. Build one kingdom and annihilate another. Through his prophets, God spoke of events hundreds of years in advance and made them come true, awakens preachers and missionaries, and sends them into the world.
Biblical writers, while affirming the sovereignty of God, also emphasize human responsibility. Therefore, although the title of this article is “The challenge and the call to the global missions”, a better designation could be: “The challenge and the order of the missions”. Both the Old and New Testaments are full of commandments for God’s people to be ambassadors for the world. From the covenant of the Lord with Abraham, promising to make his family a blessing for the whole world, at the end of the earthly life of Jesus. ministry, when he announced the great commission to his disciples, we are commanded to make God known to all the earth.
Quoting another personal example, I heard wonderful testimonies about how God deeply touched people’s hearts and took them abroad as missionaries. To be honest, I imagined that such calls must be supernatural, extraordinary, and miraculous by nature.
However, that wasn’t my experience. While my wife and I ponder the Word of God, we have not been able to escape the biological notion that God’s plan is for his people to preach the gospel to every tribe, nation, and tongue, because he has a chosen people in every tribe, nation, and language (Ap 5. 9; Mc 13. 27). Through the preaching of the gospel, God has always called men to Him. Our experience was not something we might have considered unusual. In simple terms, we are increasingly realizing that God’s plans extend to all, my wife and I have gone so far as to say, Lord, we are ready to go, nothing special, unusual, or mystical. It was just the will to leave. In the light of such a clear and biblical order, how can we escape the great responsibility the Lord has placed upon his people?
Listening to some contemporary preachers, someone might think that God in heaven, is he there, writhing his hands in frustration because he was struggling to convince people to believe in him and live for him. What a weak and pitiful God!
This, however, is not the image of God’s self-re-unveiling is the Bible. Divine sovereignty transcends the human race and that of a man’s descendants creates a powerful nation. He separates for him a chosen people from each nation. Had he sought the lost sheep, even, who are found and taken into the fold.
When we think more carefully, we see that God’s absolute sovereignty, even when it comes to calling and saving sinners, is not an obstacle to global missions, but a breath, for God has set a people apart for himself and his Son has stripped himself of his precious blood for the chosen, is the harvest now?The Lord has chosen His people in every nation and is content with nothing less than the redemption of all.

The ultimate and highest purpose of evangelization is not the well-being of men, not even their eternal bliss, but the glorification of God.
