Charles Haddon Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) was a Reformed British Baptist preacher named C. H. Spurgeon( 19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892). He converted to Christianity on January 6, 1850, at the age of fifteen. At the age of 19, he preached his first sermon; The following year he became pastor of a Baptist church in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire, England. In 1854, Spurgeon, then twenty years old, was called to be pastor of the Baptist Chapel of New Park Street, London, which would later be called the Metropolitan Tabernacle, moving to a new building. From the beginning of the ministry, his talent for displaying biblical texts was considered extraordinary. His excellence in preaching the scriptures earned him the title of prince of preachers and last of the Puritans.
