Verse of the day: Blessed is the constant man in the fear of God (Proverbs 28. 14).
The fear of the Lord is the beginning and foundation of all true Christianity. Without solemn fear and reverence for God, there is no support for the brightest virtues. He whose soul does not worship the Lord will never live in holiness.
- Happy is the one who feels an intense fear of doing what is wrong.
- Holy fear manifests itself before we get into activity.
- The holy fear is afraid of making mistakes.
- Neglecting their duties.
- And committing sin.
- He fears bad companies.
- Frivolous conversations and bad behavior.
The Fear of the Lord does not make a person unhappy; on the contrary, it leads you to the enjoyment of happiness; the attentive sentry is happier than the soldier who sleeps in his post; he who sees evil beforehand and escapes is happier than he who walks recklessly and perishes. The Lord is a sublime grace that leads man down a special path, on which it is written: “There will be no lion, will not a fierce animal cross him?(Is 35. 9). The Fear of the Lord in reference to all forms of evil is a principle that purifies and allows man to preserve, through the Holy Spirit, his immaculate garments from the contamination of the world. In this sense, “The constant man in the fear of God?”becomes happy. Solomon had experienced both worldly and holy fear: in the first he found nothing but vanity; in the second, happiness. We must not repeat his experience, but we remain faithful to his verdict.
