September 30th? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day: Psalm the glory of his name, give glory to his praise (Psalm 66. 2).

Praise God or not, doing so is not optional. Praise is a right of God; and every believer, as a recipient of God’s grace, is obligated to praise him every day. It is true that we do not have a formal rule for daily praise; We do not have commandments that prescribe certain hours of praise and thanksgiving, but the law written in the heart teaches us that it is right to praise God. The unwritten command comes to us as importantly as if it had been written on stone tablets or placed in our hands on top of the roar of Sinai. Yes, praising God is the duty of every believer. It is not only an exercise that brings pleasure, it is also the absolute obligation of the life of the believer. Do not think that you are innocent in this duty, you who always cry, and do not imagine that you can do your duty to God without singing songs of praise. As long as he lives, he is bound by ties of divine love to bless the name of God; and his praise should be on your lips continually (see Psalm 34: 1). Are you blessed so that I can bless the people I have trained for me to celebrate my praise? (Isaiah 43. 21). If you do not praise God, you are not producing the fruit that He, as a divine farmer, has the right to expect from your hands. Don’t leave your harp hanging from the willows, bring it in and do everything you can, with a grateful heart, to play the loudest music. Stand up and sing the praises of God. At each sunrise, sing your melodies and make sure that each sunset is accompanied by your praise. Cover the earth with your praise, surround it with an atmosphere of melodies, and God himself will hear from heaven and accept your music. I love you and will love you, and in your praise I will sing, because you are my loving God, my redeemer and my king.
