Our ineffable privilege
Verse of the day: God said to Moses, I AM THE ONE I AM (Exodus 3. 14).
- An implication of the magnificent name.
- I AM WHAT I AM.
- Is that this infinite.
- Absolute.
- Self-determined God came to us in Jesus Christ.
In John 8. 56-58, Jesus responds to the criticisms of Jewish leaders. He said, “Abraham, your father, was happy to see my day, saw it, and rejoiced. The Jews asked him, “Are you not fifty years old yet, and have Jesus answered them: Truly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I AM.
Could Jesus have taken more exalted words on your lips? When Jesus said, “Before Abraham existed, AM?” He took all the majestic truth of God’s name, wrapped it in the humility of a servant, and offered to atone for all our rebellion. and paved the way for us to see the glory of God without fear.
In Jesus Christ, do we born of God have the ineffable privilege of knowing Yahweh as our Father?I AM WHAT I AM God?
