The Last Feast of the Soul
Verse of the Day: One thing I ask of the Lord, and I will seek it: that I may live in the house of the Lord every day of my life, contemplate the beauty of the Lord, and meditate in his temple (Psalm 27,4)
- God is not indifferent to the contrite desire of the soul.
- He comes.
- Lifts the weight of sin.
- And fills our hearts with joy and gratitude.
- “You have turned my tears into rascality; You took my purse and gave me joy.
- So that my mind would sing praise and not be silent.
- Lord.
- My God.
- Will I thank you forever?(Psalm 30.
- 11-12).
But our joy not only comes when we look back with gratitude, joy also arises when we look to the future, with hope: Why are you despondent, my soul?, Why are you angry with me?Wait for God, because will I praise him again, my help and my God?(Psalm 42: 5-6).
“I wait for the Lord, my soul awaits him; Am I waiting for your word?”(Psalm 130. 5).
Finally, the heart aspires not to any of God’s good gifts, but to God Himself. Seeing God, knowing Him, and being in His presence is the ultimate celebration of the soul. Besides, there’s no more research. Words fail We call it pleasure, joy and delight. But these are weak indicators of an indescribable experience:
“I ask the Lord one thing, and I will seek it: to be able to live in the Lord’s house all the days of my life, contemplate the beauty of the Lord and meditate in his temple?” (Psalm 27,4).
“In your presence is there fulness of joy, in your right hand, delight forever?”(Psalm 16. 11).
? Do you love the Lord? (Psalm 37. 4)
