The first time I read this passage, I was really disgusted with King David, I could not understand why God had exterminated Uzza, if, precisely, Uzza had tried to protect the ark from the fall !!
However, one of these days I was praying with my son and I was deeply ashamed of God, when I realized how much I seemed to Uzza, careless in my fear and respect for God (1Cr 13. 12). Devotion, prayer and praise were made of?Not according to God’s instructions.
- We cannot take the ark (ark of the covenant.
- Ark of testimony) in any way.
- Nor from our own path (1Cr 13:7) [2].
- Because the Lord Himself taught us how to carry it (Ex 25:12-15) [3].
- The ark must be carried untouched.
- Hence the rods.
- Which highlight the holiness of God.
