In last year’s elections, we published an “Open Letter to the Brazilian Church”, calling the Body of Christ, that is, the Church, in our country, to intercede for the Holy Trinity to lead to electoral success. -meaningful candidates, committed to transparency and morality, with virtuous principles of life in society and with a Christian vision of the world? At the end of the letter, it was recommended that after the elections we continue to pray for the good of the nation, recalling, when the time comes, the words of the Apostle Paul to Timothy: “First, I urge you to use the practice of supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, on behalf of all men, on behalf of kings. And all those who are endowed, so that we may live a peaceful and peaceful life, with all mercy and respect?(1 Tim 2. 1-2).
It happens that since January 2 of this year, the state of Cearo has been attacked by organized crime, we understand that we face circumstances that require the Brazilian Church to gather in prayer.
- According to updated data.
- In 30 days of 2019.
- There have already been 260 criminal attacks in at least 50 cities in the state of Cear.
- After a 48-hour truce last Tuesday (29).
- Two vehicles were set on fire: a bus in Fortaleza and a truck in Maracana.
- To date.
- More than 460 people have been arrested for their involvement in the crimes.
- The state government has summoned 1.

In addition to widespread insecurity, the population of the Fortaleza metropolitan area has been severely affected by disruptions to public transport, lack of garbage collection, business closures and a decline in tourism.
In this way, we call on the Brazilian Church to kneel once more, fast and pray, implore the Holy Trinity to look with grace and mercy at the state of Cear and cease all violence imposed by organized crime at the beginning of this year.
The public manifestation of the Church is fundamental, as these are serious events that undermine the security and peace of the people of Cearo. Always of great weight, is it our prayer, for we know that it is our God who ends the wars at the ends of the earth?(Psalm 46. 9). The Trinitarian God therefore has the power to intervene directly in this sad situation.
May the Holy Trinity keep the people of Cearo and his church in this state, ending the violence perpetrated and thus restoring order and security in the region.
Let us also keep in our prayers the supplication throughout the nation, for our leaders and legislators Are reforms of great importance for Brazil’s destiny in the areas of taxation, taxation, economy, social security and security planned? They are just as important as the others, as the criminal attacks in Cear bitterly demonstrate. The Brazilian people voted in the 2018 elections in the hope of many changes, so the Church must remain vigilant, constantly reminding themselves of her obligation to pray for civil authorities. , for the peace of the nation and for the freedom to proclaim the gospel.
It is through the name of Christ, the only Ombudsman, that we raise our prayers for Cear and Brazil. Amen.
