[PVE] What is Satan’s sin?

Okay, I am God, and He is the creator of heaven and earth, and then there is the devil. So how did God always exist, and it is good, how and why does the devil exist?(I do not question the existence itself, but its explanation) From what I have learned, is the devil the angel of light?Who rebelled against God, right? So, had there been sin even before man existed?Where did the boys come from? Angels, what would an angel do?

Angels and Satan

Demons are evil angels who were once good angels, but who have sinned and lost the privilege of serving God in communion and holiness, despite. . . Serve under your sovereignty, because everything is at your service.

Source: Angels, Satan and Demons, by Wayne Grudem, bold additions by blog author. For a more in-depth study, I suggest reading the full text, noting that Grudem has an unorthodox but interesting view of the demonic possession of Christians.

There are other texts that speak of Satan’s fall: Luke 10:18, Ap 12:1-9. Some people also list the texts of Is 14. 12-15 and Eze 28. 11-19 the fall of Satan, as can be seen in Wayne Grudem’s Text, named lucifer, but there are objections: Robert L. Alden?Lucifer: Who or what? And Ra McLaughlin? Satan was never Lucifer.

The origin of sin

However, a much more complicated explanation than Satan’s origin is the origin of sin. First, we recognize that the answers to this question will not be simple and we probably won’t have a conclusive answer. But historically, beliefs have placed God as the non-author of sin, as we can see in the Westminster Confession of Faith of 1647.

God’s omnipotence, unstoppable wisdom, and infinite goodness are manifested in such a way in their providence that it extends to the first fall and all other sins of angels and men, and it is not by a simple permission, but by such a permission that, for their own holy purposes, he limits them wisely and powerfully , and regulates and governs them in a multiple, they will dispense, but this permission is such that the sin of these transgressions comes only from the creature and not from God, who, being the most holy and just, cannot be the author of sin or approve it.

I suggest reading the following text: Is God the Author of Sin? by Kenneth G Talbot and W. Gary Crampton.

For a better understanding of the mystery, below is an excerpt from John Piper’s book, Spectacular Sins and His Global Purposes in the Glory of Christ:

The desire of those who were once holy angels to love their own glories more than God defends for the most spectacular sinful position ever committed. It’s unsinkable. The Bible does not take us into the heart of such a mysterious sin to explain the dynamics of the soul that causes the rebellion of justice, we have not been given the final answer about how the origin of sin occurs in the soul of a But we also do not have to wonder if God was surprised or had to reformulate all his plans. We are intimately guided by the scriptures to the corridors of eternity and have impressive perceptions. And God’s goal in this regard is not to promote speculation, but to awaken worship and make us powerful for Christ in the midst of sin and misery.

(Also, only when the book was published in Brazil, yes, I also wanted a little more. )

It should be noted that Vincent Cheung advocates for God as the author of sin in his book Author of Sin, thus going “against the current”.

Although the subject is extremely complex, as we enter through the gates of eternity, it is more up to us to fear and trust in God, who is infinitely wise, recognizing our smallness, so we leave John Murray’s words for meditation:

We should not try to discover the reasons for his irrespersible counsel [of God]. We must bow in humility and worship and say, “Will the judge of the whole earth not do justice?”And if we’re willing to say, “Why did you do it to me like that?”We must remember the inspired answer: “Who are you, O man, to argue with God?Perhaps the object might ask those who did it: why did you do it to me like this?We can’t know the Almighty perfectly.
