Praying the Our Father :? Our Father, who are you in heaven?

Introduction

The Lord’s prayer is designed not only to be a form of prayer in itself, but also a rule of direction, a plan, or a succinct pattern, by which we can structure our prayers; and being the expressions remarkably concetive and yet sympathetic, it will sometimes be useful to present this prayer to us and, observing its method and order, to extend several passages and requests, so that we can use it even more intelligently; of this, we will give just one example here with the help we may have of some other scriptures.

  • O our Lord God.
  • You are certainly our Father.
  • Even if Abraham does not know us and Israel does not recognize us; you.
  • Lord.
  • Are our Father; Our Redeemer is your name since ancient times (Is 63:16).
  • And now we will invoke you: our Father.
  • You are the friend of our youth (Jr 3:4).

Don’t we all have the same Father? You are the spiritual Father, to whom we must be in greater submission, and then we will live (He 12:9).

You are the Father of Lights (James 1:17), the Father of mercy and the God of all consolation (2Co 1:3), the Father of eternity (Is 9:6), of whom, for whom and for whom all things are (11:36).

You are the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph 1:3), whose glory was like that of the Father’s begotten (Jn 1:14), who is in your bosom (Jn 1:18), who was with you and was your architect, day after day, your delights, to be savored before you at all times (Pr 8:30).

You are, in Christ, our Father and Father of all believers, whom you have predestined for the adoption of children (Ep 1:5), and to whose heart you have sent the Spirit of your Son, teaching them to cry:?Dad? (Gal 4:6). Look how much love the Father has given us, to the point of being called children of God (1 John 3:1)!May the Lord Almighty God be our Father and be sons and daughters to him (2C 6. 18) and to all who receive Christ. , that is, to those who believe in his name, you can give them the power to do. children of God, born not of the will of man, but of God and of his grace (Jn 1:12,13).

The! May we receive the adoption of children (Gal 4:5) and that as true children of obedience we can follow the example of the one who called us, who is holy (1 Pet 1:14,15), and that we be imitators of God, as beloved sons (Ephesians 5. 1), and according to the image of His Son, who is the firstborn among many brethren (Rom. 8. 29).

It allows us to come to you with humble audacity and trust (Ephesians 3:12), as a Father, a generous Father, who forgives us as a man forgives the son who serves him (Ml 3:17), and as a Advocate along with the Father (1 John 2:1), who also told us that the Father Himself loves us (John 16:27).

You are Father, but where is your honor (Ml 1. 6)?Lord, give us the grace to serve you as children should be, with reverence and holy fear (Heb 12:28).

You are Father, and if earthly parents, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more will Heavenly Father give the Holy Ghost to those who ask Him (Luke 11:13)?Lord, Give us the Spirit of grace and supplication (Zac. 12. 10).

We have seen you as child wonders who have left the Father’s house by distant land (Lr 15:13); but we will rise up and go to our Father, because there is a lot of bread in his house, and if we turn away from Him, we will starve to death. Father, we have sinned against heaven and before you; We are no longer worthy to be called your children; Treat us like your laborers (Lk 15:17-19).

You are our Father who are in heaven (Mt 6:9) and therefore to you, Lord, we lift up our souls (Salt 86:4) You who dwell in heaven, look up!Just as the eyes of the servants are fixed in the hands of their hands, and the eyes of the servant are in the hand of their lady, so our eyes are fixed on the Lord our God (Psalm 123:1-2); a God whom the heavens and even the heavens of heaven cannot contain (1R 8:27) and yet we can have access to, having a High Priest who entered heaven as a precursor (Heb 4:14).

You, O God, dwell in the high and holy place (Is 57:15) and your name is holy and formidable (Salt 111,9). God is in heaven and we are on earth (Ec 5:2); Therefore, we must carefully choose our words to discuss with him (Job 9:14). And yet, through a mediator, we have the courage to enter the Most Holy Place (Heb 10:19).

Aware of heaven, we pray and look at your holy and glorious abode (Is 63:15); has compassion on us and helps us (M. 9. 22).

Heaven is the work of your power (Psalm 150:1): answer us with your holy heaven with the victorious strength of your right hand (Salt 20:6); from your sanctuary, send us help and hold us from Zion (Salt 20:2).

And since heaven is the home of our Father (Jn 14:2), let us have our homeland there (Fel 3:20) and look for the things above (Cl 3:1).
