Prayer: We Help, Glory of God

One of God’s unique characteristics is that he shows his glory by helping rather than asking for help. Hasn’t God even seen you with your eyes, who works for the one who waits in it?(Isaiah 64:4). Is it also not served by human hands, as if it needed something?(Acts 17:25). Will he still stand up and show them compassion?(Isaiah 30:18).

Change the way we pray.

  • When we ask him for help.
  • We know he’ll give it to us by name.
  • Not because we deserve it.
  • Your help increases your wealth for us.
  • ” God.
  • According to his wealth.
  • Will provide all your needs in glory.
  • By Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
  • Jesus died to receive all the help we need; therefore.
  • Not only our praises.
  • But also our requests.
  • Become ways to glorify God; draw attention to your wealth.
  • Not our rights.

The principle is this: we receive help; receives glory

For example, the Psalmist prays:

Help us, God of our salvation, by the glory of your name; and deliver us and forgive our sins because of your name (Psalm 79:9).

We receive help, deliverance, and atonement; it is given an exalted name, so it appears several times in the Old Testament:

By thy name, Eternal, forgive my wickedness, for it is great (Psalm 25:11).

Lord, give me life by name! (Psalm 143: 11)

O Lord, listen; O Lord, forgive me; O Lord, listen and act; Don’t be slow, for your own good (Daniel 9:19).

Similarly, when Jesus comes, the first thing that tells us to pray is the glory of God’s name: “Our Father, who art in heaven, is your name sanctified?(Matthew 6:9).

And when Paul prays, all his demands have the same purpose

And I ask this: that. . . (to be) filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1:9-11).

We don’t stop praying for you, just for our God. . . Carry out with power every objective of goodness and work of faith, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you (2 Thessalonians 1: 11-12).

That’s wonderful. God exalts his grace and power by helping rather than demanding it. He conceives the Christian life so that we can have joy while he receives glory.

But it forces us to be born again

Before the new birth, we were allergic to that humility, we not only wanted to be happy, we wanted to be happy to be someone, we do not like the idea that God receives all the glory, when all we receive is His. help and joy in him.

But when we are born again, we rejoice that God is God; We are glad that God receives all the glory, as we continue to plead for mercy with joy; therefore, pray constantly and put the glory of God to be seen.

You come to your king, great requests that you carry; Because his grace and power are such that no one can ask too much (John Newton).
