Verse of the day: Then you will pray thus: Father our heavenly, sanctified be thy name. (Matthew 6. 9)
Dozens of times, the scriptures say that God does things “by name. “But if you ask what really moves God’s heart in this statement (and many others), the answer is for God to rejoice in publicating his name.
- The first and most important prayer that can be done is: “May your name be sanctified”.
- It is a request to God to come and work so that his name may be sanctified.
Does God like to have more and more people?Does sanctifying his name, and therefore his Son, teach Christians to align their prayers with this great passion of the Father.
“Lord, may more and more people sanctify your name,” that is, to value, admire, respect, appreciate, honor, and praise your name. It is essentially a missionary prayer.
