Pilgrim’s conflict with laziness? John Piper

“The poem I’m about to read is titled “Pilgrim’s Conflict with Laziness. “Gather three things I face and love. One is poetry, one is work, and another is that transition in my life that some have called “retirement”, since I moved from Bethlehem. Then I began to wonder how I felt about quitting smoking. What’s the right view of the job?Why do I love poetry so much? And it all culminated in a poem in which I find Preguica, like an enemy along the way. And the way it unfolds is that I fight, that’s how my mind works, I fight, while I try to write this poem, with “Who am I?”Am I a workahoo, as some have said? I’m not???What is the correct theology of work and the theology of rest?and “What does it mean to get to an intersection like this in your life?”, can be of use to you. Here’s “The Pilgrim’s Conflict with Laziness. “[John Piper]
