Verse of the Day: So What? If some did not believe, will their unbelief destroy God’s faithfulness? May God be true and a liar, everyone, as it is written: To be justified in your words and win when you are judged (Romans 3. 3-4).
Our concern for the truth is an inevitable expression of our concern for God. If God exists, then He is the measure of all things, and what He thinks of all things is the measure of what we should think.
- Not worrying about the truth is not worrying about God.
- To love God with passion is to love the truth passionately.
- To be centered on God in life means to be guided by truth in ministry.
- What is not true does not come from God.
Ponder these four sets of texts about God and truth
1) God is the truth
Romans 3. 3-4 (God the Father) :?So what? If some did not believe, will their disbelief destroy God’s faithfulness?May God be every truthful and lying man, as it is written: To be justified in your words and overcome when you are judged?
John 14. 6 (God the Son) 😕 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father just for me?.
John 15:26 (God the Spirit) 😕 However, when the Comforter comes, who will send you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, who comes from him, will bear witness to me.
2) Not loving the truth is eternally harmful
2 Thessalonians 2. 10: They shall perish, “for they did not accept the love of truth to be saved. “
3) Christian life is based on knowledge of the truth
1 Corinthians 6. 15-16 :?Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ?And I would take the members of Christ and turn them into prostitutes?Or don’t you know that the man who joins the prostitute forms a body with her, because, as they say, they’re both one flesh?
4) The body of Christ is truly built in love
Colossses 1:28: “What we proclaim, admonishing each one and teaching each one with all wisdom, that we may present every perfect man in Christ. “
May God be passionate about him and the truth.
