Illness, sin or sabotage
Verse of the Day: Three times I asked the Lord to keep him away from me (2 Corinthians 12. 8).
- Every life.
- If lived sincerely by faith.
- In the search for the glory of God and the salvation of others.
- Is like the Christian who goes to a place affected by epidemics.
- The resulting suffering is part of the price of living where you are.
- In obedience to God’s call.
By choosing to follow Christ as he guides us, we choose all that this path includes under his sovereign providence. So all the sufferings that occur on the path of obedience suffer with Christ and for Christ?Whether it’s cancer or conflict.
And is it Selected??that is, we voluntarily follow the path of obedience where suffering occurs with us, and we do not murmur against God. We can pray, as Paul did, that suffering may disappear (2 Corinthians 12:8); But God willing, we finally accept it as part of the cost of discipleship on the road to obedience on the way to heaven.
All experiences of suffering on the path of Christian obedience, whether by persecution, illness or accident, have this in common: they all threaten our faith in God’s goodness and tempt us to leave the path of obedience.
So is every triumph of faith and perseverance in obedience a testimony of God’s goodness and Christ’s worth?our Christian vocation is to suffer — with Christ?for Christ?.
With Christ in the sense that suffering occurs with us when we walk with him through faith, and in the sense that he is supported by the strength he provides through his empathetic ministry as a high priest (Hebrews 4:15).
For Christ in the sense that suffering proves and proves our fidelity to his goodness and power, and in the sense that he reveals the value of
