October 23rd? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day: Do you want to?(John 6. 67)

Many have abandoned Christ, they no longer walk with Him, but what reason do they have for this change? Is there a reason in the past? Didn’t Jesus prove enough? He pleads with you this morning: “Have I been? A desert?” (Jeremiah 2:31. ) When your soul has simply trusted Jesus, have you ever been confused? Until now, have you not discovered that your Lord is compassionate and compassionate? generous friend? Hasn’t simple faith in Him yet given you all the peace your mind could wish for? Can you dream of a better friend than Jesus was for you? So, don’t change the old and try the new and the fake. Looking at the present, can this motivate you to abandon Christ? When we are afflicted by this world and severe tribulations in the church, we find it a blessing to be able to lay our heads in the bosom of our Lord. joy we have today? we are saved in Christ. If this joy satisfies us, why do we think we are changing? Who exchanges gold for slag? We will not leave our Lord until a more resplendent love appears. Since this will never happen, we will cling to the Lord Jesus with immortal vigor and engrave his name as a seal on our arms. As for the future, can you suggest anything that may arise that requires the wilderness or revolt against the old standard to serve another captain? We don’t believe it. If life is long, it does not change. If we are poor, what could be better than having Christ, who can make us rich? When we are sick, what do we need besides Jesus to take care of us? When we die, is it not written that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things of the present, nor of the future, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord? (Romans 8: 38-39)? We say with Peter: “Lord, to whom shall we go?” (John 6. 68).
