Verse of the day: I will love you myself. (Osseas 14. 4)

This phrase is a miniature body of a deity. Whoever understands the meaning of this statement is a theologian and whoever can delve into the fullness of this phrase is a true teacher in Israel. This phrase is a synthesis of the glorious message of salvation that was given to us in Christ Jesus, our Redeemer. The heart of this sentence is in the words “of myself”. It is the correct, glorious and divine way in which love flows from heaven to earth. It is a spontaneous love, which manifests itself to those who do not deserve it, do not buy it, do not seek it. It really is the only way God can love us. The text deals a fatal blow to all sorts of abilities: “I myself will love them. ” Now, if there were a necessary ability in us, then God would not love himself at all, it would be a reduction in the generosity of this love. But the truth remains: “I myself will love you. ” We lament: “Lord, my heart is so hard. ” He responds: “I myself will love them. ” We say, “But I don’t feel the need for Christ as I would like to. Don’t I feel this rest of the Holy Spirit, this rest that I should want? And He responds: “I will not love you because you feel your need. “I myself will love them. ” The covenant of grace does not impose conditions. Without any merit, we can venture into the promise that God made to us in Jesus Christ: “Is he who believes in him not condemned? (John 3:18). We are blessed to know that God’s grace is spontaneous for us at all times, without the need for preparation, adjustments, money, or prizes! In fact, this verse was written especially for these people. Will I cure their infidelity, will I love them myself? (Hosea 14. 4). O sinner, the generosity of this promise will surely break your heart, and you will return and seek the face of your offended Father.
