October 19th? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day: Children in Christ. (1 Corinthians 3,1)

Do you regret being too weak in your spiritual life? Do you regret that your faith is so fragile and your love so small? Rest assured, you have reason to be thankful. Remember: in some things you are like the strongest adult believer. You and he were bought with the same blood. You are an adopted child of God like any other believer. A child is a true child of his parents, just like an adult child. You are completely justified in Christ, because your justification does not depend on degrees. His little faith made him completely pure. As the most advanced believers, you are entitled to the precious things of the covenant, as your entitlement to the mercies of the covenant is not based on your spiritual growth, but on the covenant itself. Believer, your faith in Jesus is not the measure but the proof of your inheritance in Him. You are as rich as the richest, if not in pleasure, in royal possession. The weakest star is also orbiting the sky. The weakest ray of light also has an affinity for great daylight. In the register of the celestial family, the smallest and the largest are inscribed by the same pen. You are as dear to your Heavenly Father as the noblest of the family. The Lord Jesus shows you abundant tenderness. You are like a broken staff, and any hand less careful than the Master’s would crush or pull you, but will the broken staff never crush? (Isaiah 42. 3). A rougher mind would say, “Put out that crowd of smokers. Does it fill the room with an unpleasant smell !? Instead of being defeated for who you are, you must feel triumphant in Christ. Am I small in Israel? In Christ I am seated in heavenly places. Am I poor in faith? Despite this, in Jesus I am the heir of all things. Although I have nothing to boast about, as far as I am concerned, I will rejoice in the Lord and glory in the God of my salvation.
