October 10th? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day: Immaculate before his glory. (Jude 24)

In our hearts we search for this wonderful word “immaculate”. We are still very far from this reality. However, as our Lord never stops before perfection in his work of love, one day we will reach this state. The Savior, who will maintain His people to the end, will Himself present them for consumption before Him as a glorious church, without spot, wrinkle, or otherwise (see Ephesians 5:27). All the jewels in the crown of the Savior are first class and have no blemishes. All the bridesmaids who frequent the Lamb’s wife are pure and immaculate virgins. Believers will be holy and without flaws. But how is the Lord Jesus going to heal us? In his blood, he will wash away our sins, until we are pure and holy like an angel of God. Will we be clothed in the righteousness of Christ? that justice that undoubtedly makes the saint who uses it perfect, yes, perfect in the eyes of God. We will be innocent and blameless in the eyes of God. Your law will have no charge against us; furthermore, it will magnify itself in us. And the work of the Holy Spirit in us will be fully accomplished. God will make us so perfectly holy that we will have no tendency to sin. Judgment, memory, will, all power and all passion will be freed from the bondage of evil. In heaven, the beauty of the saints will be as sublime as the beauty of the place prepared for them. Oh! What joy there will be when the eternal portals rise and we, already worthy of our inheritance, live with the saints in the light! Sin will disappear and Satan will be cast out; temptation will no longer exist, and will we ourselves be “spotless”? In front of God. It will truly be paradise. Let us rejoice now as we repeat the song of eternal praise to resound, to all chorus, from all the multitude washed in blood. Let us copy David’s praise before the ark as a prelude to our ecstasy before the throne.
