Feeling suffering
Verse of the day: [Moses] considered Christ’s oprobrium for greater riches than the treasures of Egypt, because he contemplated the reward (Hebrews 11:26).
- We do not choose suffering simply because we are ordained.
- But because the one who commands us presents it as the way of eternal joy.
It reminds us of obedience to suffering, not to demonstrate the strength of our devotion to duty, nor to reveal the strength of our moral determination, nor to check the limits of our tolerance for pain, but to manifest ourselves, with a childish faith. the infinite beauty of his promises that fully satisfy us.
Would Moses prefer to be mistreated with God’s people rather than enjoy the traveling pleasures of sin?Why consider the price? (Hebrews 11: 25-26). Therefore, his obedience glorified the God of grace, not the decision to suffer.
This is the essence of Christian hedonism. In the search for joy through suffering, we value the Source that fully satisfies our joy. God Himself shines even brighter at the end of our tunnel of pain.
If we do not manifest that this is the purpose and basis of our joy in suffering, then the very meaning of our suffering will be lost.
The meaning is this: God is gain. God is gain, God is gain
The main purpose of man is to glorify Dieu. It is truer in suffering than in any circumstance that God is more glorified in us when we are more satisfied in Him.
