Verse of the day: The high priest Joshua, who stood before the angel of the Lord (Zechariah 3. 1).
In Joshua, the high priest, we see an image of every child of God who was brought to him by the blood of Christ (see Ephesians 2:13), who was commissioned to serve in divine things and who entered into them. inner blessings. the veil. The Lord Jesus made us priests and kings of God (see Revelation 1. 6) and even in this world we exercise the priesthood of consecrated life and sanctified service. This high priest is seen as someone who “stood before the angel of the Lord,” that is, he was there to serve. This must be the perpetual position of every true believer. Everywhere is the temple of God now. And God’s people can truly serve you, both in your daily accomplishments and in church. They should always minister, offer the spiritual sacrifices of prayer and praise, as well as present themselves as a living sacrifice (see Romans 12: 1). Notice where Joshua would serve: “before the angel of the Lord. ” It is only through a mediator that we, unworthy and corrupt creatures, can become priests of God. I present what I have before the messenger, the angel of the covenant, the Lord Jesus; and, through him, my prayers find acceptance, wrapped in his prayers. My praise becomes sweet, because it is covered with myrrh, aloe, and cassia from the garden of Christ. If only He could bring you tears, He will gather them with your own tears, because He cried when He was on earth. If I can bring you nothing but regrets and sighs, you will accept it as a pleasant sacrifice, because you are already heartbroken and sighing deep in your mind. When I am in him, I am accepted in the beloved; and all my contaminated works, although in themselves only objects of divine aversion, are received, so that God may feel sweet. He is happy and I am blessed. Notice, then, the position of the believer – one? Priest? Who? before the Angel of the Lord?
