Verse of the day: And do not sadden the Spirit of God. (Ephesians 4. 30)
All that the believer has comes from Christ, but only by the Spirit of Grace. Therefore, no good, no holy thought, no devout worship, no action of grace can flow from you without the sanctifying work of that same Spirit. Even the good seed planted in your heart remains asleep until the Holy Spirit works in you, both willing and working, according to your good will. (Philippians 2:13). Do you want to talk about Christ? How will you do that if the Holy Spirit does not touch your lips? You want to pray Oh! it will be a monotonous activity, if the Holy Spirit does not come and intercede for you (see Romans 8:26). Do you want to conquer sin? Do you want to be holy and imitate your Lord? Do you want to reach higher levels of spirituality? Do you want to become, like the angels of God, filled with ardor and zeal for your Lord? None of this can be done without the Holy Spirit; Without me, can’t you do anything? (John 15: 5). Branch of the vine, you cannot bear fruit without the sap. Son of God, you have no life in your soul without the life that God grants through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, let us not grieve the Spirit of God, nor provoke him to anger for our sins. Let us not suffocate the Holy Spirit in any of his smallest movements in us. Let us be ready to obey all the promptings of the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit is really that powerful, let’s not try to do anything without Him, let’s not initiate or pursue any plans, or complete transactions without asking for His blessing. Let us pay him the homage that corresponds to us to feel our complete weakness when we are without him and then, depending only on him, let us make this prayer our prayer: 11 Open my heart and my whole being so that you come to my soul; sustain me with your free Spirit, when I receive your Spirit in me?
