Words for the fight
Verse of the day: Don’t be afraid, for I am with you; don’t be afraid, because I am your God; I strengthen you, help you, and support you with my faithful right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

- I regularly fight disbelief with one of my most commonly used promises: Isaiah 41.

The day I left the United States for three years in Germany, my father made a long-distance call and made that promise to me over the phone. For three years, I had to quote this promise about five hundred times when I was going through periods of great stress.
When the motor of my mind is stopped, the sound of the gears is the sound of Isaiah 41. 10.
When I fear that my ministry is useless and empty, I fight disbelief with the promise of Isaiah 55. 11:?So will the word that comes out of my mouth: it will not come back empty to me, but it will do what I want and thrive on this so that I have designated it ?.
When I hope to be too weak to do my job, I fight against disbelief with Christ’s promise: “Put on my grace, for power is perfected in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
When I am concerned about the choices I must make for the future, I fight disbelief with the promise: “I will teach you the way forward; and, in my eyes, will I give you any advice?(Psalm 32. 8).
When I wait to face my opponents, I fight against disbelief with the promise: “If God is for us, who will be against us?”(Romans 8. 31).
When I worry about the welfare of those I love, I fight against disbelief with the promise that if I, being evil, know how to give good things to my children, how much more?Father, who is in heaven, give good things to those who ask you” (Matthew 7:11).
