My soul is thirsty for God

Verse of the day: As the deer sighs by the streams of the waters, so for you, O God, sigh my soul. My soul thirsts for God, of the living God; When will I stand in front of God’s face?(Psalm 42: 1-2)

What makes this so beautiful and crucial to us is that he is not primarily thirsty for alleviating his threatening situation, he is not particularly anxious to escape his enemies or his destruction.

  • It is not wrong to desire relief and pray for it.
  • Sometimes it is right to pray for the defeat of enemies.
  • However.
  • God Himself is more important than anything else.

When we think and feel with God in the psalms, this is the main result: we come to love God and want to see God, be with God, and simply admire Him and rejoice in God.

A likely translation of the end of verse 2 is, “When will I go to see the face of God?”The final answer to this question was given in John 14:9 and 2 Corinthians 4. 4. Jesus said, “He who sees me sees the Father. “And Paul said that when we convert to Christ, we see “the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, which is the image of God. “

When we see the face of Christ, we see the face of God. And we see the glory of his face when we hear the gospel story of his death and resurrection. It is “the gospel of the glory of Christ, which is the image of God. “

May the Lord increase his hunger and thirst to see the face of God and fulfill his desire through the gospel of Christ’s glory, which is the image of God.
