Maria’s having a baby!
Maria walked through the door of the clinical examination lab, didn’t even take off her sunglasses, stopped in front of the service desk and handed over the numbered guide for the removal of the pregnancy test to the assistant, who whispered something like a thank you, turned around. with his back and walked towards the exit. On the sidewalk, standing with his back to the door, he opened the examination with light hands: POSITIF.
- An adrenaline rush hit his neck.
- Flooded his brain and for a moment he felt dizzy.
- He staggered.
- He put a hand on the wall behind him.
- He couldn’t believe what was written.
- I releí.
- I flipped the test sheet to check his name on the back.
- Yes.
- The test bore his full name.
The February afternoon sun has become more intense, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, but I was sure I needed to share this information with someone, a trusted person to help him reason, everything was lost. Mary felt a mixture of shame, guilt, fear, nausea and fatigue. He wanted to disappear, become invisible or just wake up in bed and realize that it had all been a nightmare, but it was real. Mary, lost in her own mistakes, should make decisions and act like an adult. At that time he ended his adolescence.
Mary was pregnant, she was a young woman of almost 18 years, her Christian family was a regular servant of an old church in the ward, her parents were teachers in the biblical school, her older brother, an evangelist with missionary intent, and stood up. there on the street, overwhelmed by the shame of having exposed his sin by an unexpected pregnancy. A wave of fear and anguish smothered his soul, his thoughts were confused, accelerated, and messy. She thought God had abandoned her, that he did. I didn’t love her, I didn’t understand her, and now I was punishing her for this pregnancy.
Mary was plunged into deep darkness. She groaned discouragedly, beckoned the bus to stop, climbed upstairs, paid for her ticket, sat next to a young woman with a small boy on her lap, slept her completely relaxed on her mother’s lap, who hugged her. lovingly, giving little security and comfort. This scene provoked in Mary a mixture of tenderness and panic. His maternal instincts were at stake, but like the weight of an anvil, his guilt crushed his affections.
After a few days with her secret stuck in her throat and after many whispering conversations with her best friend, in tears, Maria decided that she would have the child and that it was time to tell her parents about her situation.
This story is fictional, but we know Marys, single mothers, adolescents or not, Christians, of authentic religious families whose lives are based on sound doctrine What would we do if Mary in this fictional story belonged to our family or to our circle of brothers in Christ?Could our house harbor Mary’s shame and give her and the child that a manger will be born, as Jesus had done, to come into the world? Is our church willing to love and forgive someone who exposes the entire congregation with His sin? Will we be that body of Christ that will keep our index finger on the nose of Mary and her family, telling her how guilty and sinful she is?And how is Mary finally thinking about restoring Mary’s relationship with her Savior?
Motherhood is the subject of this article, not motherhood, but special motherhood.
Sisters, we must give thanks here! If you know the one who died for us, your heart melts with gratitude every day. The Lord is sweet and tender, loving and majestic. He will seek you, lost sheep, fear nothing, he is mine and your Lord, he was crushed on the cross by mine and your sin and said (whispered in my ear one day), that neither you nor I, who one day surrender to the Savior, must fear men and their enemies (Lk 12:5) For he, our shepherd and Lord Lord , you will not lose any of the sheep your Father has given you!(Jn 10:28). Wonderful promise!
Shall we go for a walk in the scriptures? Come with me, open your heart and we will rejoice in this Redeemer.
Every time I see an embarrassing and guilty woman, I think of that woman of John 8,1-11, who was brought to Jesus to be stoned for being caught in the act of adultery, she was alone, (where is the man with whom she is?Had he adulterated?) Before Jesus, taken by the scribes and Pharisees, she was tried and sentenced to the death penalty, but Jesus, calm, meek and wise, without enduring the sin of the woman, but with her mercy, she repelled one of her accusers one by one, showing her sin, which, although not visible to the eyes, was in her heart. Then the Savior, Jesus Christ, asks the woman for those who have accused her, and no one else has accused her. because we are all, without exception, sinners.
What differentiates your sin, my child, from the sin of others? For we all lack the grace of God, the righteousness of Christ that justifies us before the Father. It is written: If we say that we have not committed sin, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us (1 John 1. 10). Daughter, we are all sinners, and there is no judge among us to accuse you, if because this woman has repented of your sin and confessed it to the Lord (if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleansers of all injustice (1 John 1-9), you are forgiven by him, and he himself will purify and restore his life (have you noticed that we have parole?Isn’t that right?). Turn to him, and he will come to you (Pv 4:8; Is 55:7), came to save you, to justify you, to love you, and to give you abundant life (Jn 10:10) and eternal (Jo 10:28).
Hello Christian family, here we are with Mary and the baby, will there be room for this couple in their parents’ house? And in your church, do you have a place to receive them? Mary sinned, fell into temptation (?But who?), However, we are already on scene two, and Mary and the baby will need mercy, reconciliation, support, correction, direction. As a family, we will be able to remember how much Jesus forgave us and how how much mercy and grace did He give us day after day?We can learn from the parable of the unfulfilled creditor in Matthew 18:23-35, remember? This creditor who was given an unpayable debt, but who did not forgive his neighbor. who owed him much less:
Then his lord, the appellant, said to him, “Bad servant, I have given you all this debt because you have begged me; Shouldn’t you also sympathize with your service partner, as I had compassion for you, too?
Mary needs reconciliation, Christians are ambassadors of Christ, ministers of reconciliation; It is only in her that Mary will find rest and peace to care for her and her dependent baby. It is only with Christ that Mary can have hope. and a transformed life.
Now, everything comes from God, who reconciled us with himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world with himself, not blaming men for their transgressions, and entrusting us with the word Reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors in the name of Christ, as if God exhorted through us; therefore, in the name of Christ we pray that you may be reconciled with God 2 Corinthians 5,18-20
No, Mary is not alone if she is in the body of Christ, a place where she will have communion with other mothers and families that may be her reference to christ’s supernatural love, because, after all, no family is perfect, but in Christ we have someone who, as an older brother, has opened the way to heaven, to eternal life with his death and resurrection. Mary needs to die with Christ to win the resurrection with Christ. Mary needs to deepen her knowledge of Christ and be freed by truth (Jn 8:32).
Mary needs discipleship, aaaah, we’re not going to stay outside, just watch Mary’s life go by, are we?Sheep, it is time to teach and biblically counsel this child, how little or much you know of the word of God is good for Mary. , because if we don’t tell her the truth, someone can instruct her with a lie, because the digital universe is easy, fast and pollutes. Kissing Mary in her new beginning is a challenge, but remember that we are instruments, God is to be with Mary and pray with her, change a baby’s diaper or accompany this new family to a doctor’s appointment may be enough for Mary to recognize Jesus’ love in you and turn to Christ.
My brethren, if any of you depart from the truth and one converts it, know that whoever converts the sinner from his evil way will save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins James 5:19-20
We will mature in our understanding and seek to know what the Lord wants from us: I want mercy, not sacrifice, and knowledge of God, more than burnt offerings (Os 6. 6). It is necessary to bear witness that we are not perfect people to live an immaculate life, but because we have enough savior, we can repent of our sins, be forgiven, and, by the grace of the Lord, have our lives restored in Christ and love our neighbor with that love. from the flower gardens of our church and reaches, on the outer sidewalks, the wretches who, thirsty, look at us.
In this everyone will know that they are my disciples: if they love each other. John 13:35
