Unless Bible preachers and teachers are careful, the way we treat the scriptures can really feed this beast. We rushed to the app, consumed by this question: “How important is this to me?
However, the Bible is theocentric and not anthropocentric. Are you more interested in describing God’s ways?Your character, your goals and your cosmic redemption plan (?Why did God love the world so much?) To give modern believers stimuli that form character (?Be brave like Daniel; lead like Nehemiah; Abraham’s faith?).

Paul says, “Do we join him in the image of his death?(Rom 6. 5). But he also rejoices: “Was the death caused by victory?(1 Cor 15. 54). Dead with one?Capital city? Not only personal physical death, but the devastating realm of sin over the world of the first Adam (Rom. 5: 12-21)? He was defeated on the cross of Christ.
If the kingdom of death has been conquered on the cross, where does the new one appear?It appears in the resurrection of Jesus at the feast of the beginnings. The origins of this Old Testament feast were agricultural: the first packages were brought to the tabernacle to share God’s goodness with the poor and foreigners. But the feast has always inclined Israel to look forward, announcing the day when all life would be “very beautiful” again, as before.

These are just two brief examples; There are several other festivals, many temple practices, and historical accounts that serve to herald the redemption that would come in Jesus. A gospel formed by the rich history of the Old Testament is evangelically much more convincing because it honors the coherent unity of the scriptures. this gospel produces disciples who have a healthier self-image: they resist the standard sin of prioritizing themselves and learn to deny themselves and follow Jesus.
