May 27th? The fruit is like life

Verse of the day: For these things, existing in you and increasing in you, rest with you so that they may not be inactive or barren in the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1. 8).

If we want to glorify the Lord, being successful believers, we must have certain things in us, because nothing can come out of us without being there first. We must begin with faith, which is the foundation of all virtues. Next, we must add virtue, knowledge, temperance, and patience to the faith. With these virtues, we must have mercy and brotherly love. All these virtues together will certainly lead us to bear fruit in our lives and we will not be vain connoisseurs, but true practitioners of the Word of God. These holy virtues must not only exist in us, but also be abundant; otherwise, we will be sterile. The fruit is the result of life; therefore, we must be full of life before we can bear fruit.

  • We have seen people of remarkable places and opportunities who have never been able to do good for the conversion of souls.
  • After a more precise observation we conclude that they do not possess certain virtues absolutely essential for fruit activity.
  • These virtues are better than gifts for true use; as man is.
  • That’s his work.
  • If we want to do our best.
  • We have to be better.
  • May this verse become a sweet indication to us and to nominal believers who bear no fruit.
