Verse of the day 😕 Mefiboset lived in Jerusalem, for he always ate at the king’s table; was lame on both feet. (2 Samuel 9:13)

Mefiboset was not a beautiful ornament for a king’s table; however, he had a permanent place in David’s meals, because he could see the traits of the beloved Jonathan in Mefi-boset’s face. Like Mefiboset, we can cry out to the King of Glory: “Who is your servant, who looked at a dead dog like me?”(2 Samuel 9. 8). But God favors us by giving us communion with himself, because He sees in us the likeness of his beloved Jesus. The Lord’s people are loved by the Other. It is the father’s love for his only Son.

  • Out of love for Jesus.
  • God exalts his humble brethren.
  • Taking them out of insignificance to heavenly companionship.
  • Offering them a royal offer and a position of nobility; their imperfection will not prevent them from enjoying their privileges.
  • Is the cripple an heir.
  • As one could run like Asael.
  • Was he light-footed.
  • Like a wild gazelle?(2 Samuel 2:18).
  • Our righteousness does not drink.
  • Even if our forces limping; the king’s table is a noble hiding place for the thighs.
  • And at the feast of the Gospel we learn to rejoice in sickness because the power of Christ rests upon us.
  • Defects can tarnish the personality of God’s most beloved saints; Saints whose faith is weak and of little knowledge are great losers; they are exposed to many enemies and cannot follow the king wherever he goes.

This disease is usually the result of falls. Malnutrition in early Christian life often causes new converts to fall into a kind of discouragement from which they will never recover, and sins, in other cases, cause bone fractures. Lord, help the lame man jump like a deer and satisfy all your people with the bread on your table.
