May 19th? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day: “I have seen servants on horseback and princes walking like servants upon the earth” (Ecclesiastes 10. 7).

Arrogant people tend to usurp the highest places, while the highest are languishing in the dark. It is an enigma in Providence, whose solution will one day brighten the hearts of the righteous. However, we must not whisper, if this conundrum is our fair part. When our Lord was in this world, He walked the path of service and fatigue as a servant of servants. How wonderful it would be if his disciples, who are princes of blood, were seen as inferior and despicable people! The world is upside down; therefore, the first are the last and the last, the first. Watch Satan’s servile children rule the earth!Amman is in court, while Redfiter is seated at the door; David wanders the mountains, while Saul reigns; Elijah complains in the cave, while Jesabel brags in the palace; Who would want to take the place of the proud rebels? And who, on the other hand, would not envy the despised saints? When this speed is reversed, the humble are exalted and the exalted are humiliated.

  • Believing.
  • Be patient! Eternity will correct the mistakes of time.
  • We are not wrong to let our carnal passions and appetites triumph.
  • While our noblest powers are in the dust.
  • Grace must reign as a prince and make the members of the body instruments of justice.
  • The Holy Spirit loves.
  • Order.
  • So he puts our abilities and powers in place and grade.
  • Giving nobler positions to the faculties that unsote us with the great King.
  • On the contrary.
  • Let us ask for grace to keep our bodies sinking.
  • It has been regenerated to allow passions to govern us.
  • But for us.
  • With Christ Jesus.
  • To reign as kings over the triple kingdom of our body.
  • Soul and spirit.
  • So that God the Father may be glorified.
