May 16th? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day :?What does everything provide us abundantly for our pleasure?(1 Timothy 6. 17)

The Lord Jesus always gives blessings and not for a moment does He withdraw His hand. As long as there is a glass of grace that is not completely full, the oil will not cease. It is a sun that always shines. It is the mana that always falls on the camp. It is a rock in the desert that always sends rivers of life to its side. The rain of Christ’s grace will always fall. The river of Christ’s goodness flows at all times, and the fountain of his love constantly overflows. Since the king never dies, his grace can never fail. Each day we gather its fruit, and day after day its branches bow before our hands with a new reserve of mercy. There are seven holidays in the weeks of the Lord Jesus. Who has returned from the gates of Christ without any blessing? Who ever rose dissatisfied at the table of Christ or passed by him unloved? The mercies of Christ are new every morning (see Lamentations 3:23) and every night. Who can list the blessings of the Lord Jesus and detail the list of His goodness? Every grain of sand that falls from the clock of time is the last flower of a myriad of mercies. The wings of our hours are covered with the silver of your goodness and the gold of your affection. The river of time carries the golden sands of your favor from the mountains of eternity. The countless stars serve as a prototype for an even more countless multitude of blessings. Who can count the benefits that God bestowed on Jacob and describe a quarter of his mercy toward Israel? How will my soul exalt the One who each day overwhelms us with his blessings and crowns us with his goodness, grace, and mercy? (see Psalm 103. 4). Oh! May my praise be as unceasing as the goodness of the Lord Jesus! Oh wretched tongue, how can you keep quiet? Wake up, I beg you, I will not stop calling you my glory, but my shame. ? Wake up, psaltery and harp! Do I want to wake up in the morning? (Psalm 108. 2).
