What is sweetness?
Verse of the day: Blessed are the sweets, for they shall inherit the earth (Matthew 5. 5).
- Sweetness begins when we put our trust in God.
- So because we trust him.
- We entrust our way to him.
- We reject in him our anxieties.
- Our frustrations.
- Our projects.
- Our relationships.
- Our work and our health.
And then we patiently wait for the Lord, we trust in your time, your power, and your grace to resolve things in the best way for your glory and our good.
The result of trust in God, the rejection of our concerns for God, and God’s patient expectation is that we do not give in to swift and malevolent anger, on the contrary, we yield to anger and give our cause to God and let him justify us. him if he wishes.
And so, as Tiago says, in this quiet confidence, we are late to speak and ready to listen (James 1:19). We have become reasonable and open to correction.
Sweetness likes to learn. And she considers the wounds made by a friend beautiful, and when she has to say a critical word to a person trapped in sin or error, she speaks of the deep conviction of her own fallibility, her own susceptibility to sin, and her total dependence on God’s grace.
The calm, flexibility and vulnerability of softness are very beautiful and painful, they go against all that we are by our sinful nature, they need supernatural help.
If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, that is, if you trust him, trust him, and wait patiently, God has already begun to help you and will help you even more.
And the main way it will help you is by assuring your heart that you are consistent with Jesus Christ and that the world and everything in it is yours.
