Verse of the day: “Through many tribulations, we must enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22).
God’s people have their afflictions. When he chose his children, he was never in his plans that were not proven. Have you been chosen from the affliction furnace? (Isaiah 48:10). They were not chosen to have peace in the world and earthly joy. They were never promised to be free of disease and the pains of mortality; when his Lord testified of privileges, He included punishments among the things they would inevitably inherit. Testing is part of our lot. They were predestined for us according to the solemn decree and left as an inheritance in the will of our Lord. Just as it is true that the stars are arranged in heaven by the hands of God and that He sets their orbits, it is also true that the trials are specifically designated for each of us. God has ordained the time, place, and intensity of our trials, and the effect they will have on us.
